Pretty effective little horror movie.
I certainly found it scary if a little off in some ways.
Mainly, I’ll say, as much as I love Adam Scott, I think he is miscast. Not to say he doesn’t have the acting chops. He definitely pulls off being unlikable. But maybe too well. He is an a-hole throughout the whole movie. I’ve seen this come up recently with other movies where they make characters too unlikable and I’m thinking like did no one read the script and think no one will be routing for him.
Team Jerry.
I wish there was a bit more to the supernatural portion of the film. I’m fine with there being mystery and I’d say we almost got everything we needed, but I’d say the established antagonism never really developed.
Overall the script could have had a couple more passes but if you like haunted hotel movies, this one does feel very comfortable
