My favorite scene is the black rage opening of the speaker

quote:

Now, my book, "White-Hating Coon," don't have none of that bullshite. The hero's name is Maleekwa, and he's descended from the black tribe that established the first society on the planet, while all you European motherfrickers were hiding out in caves and shite, all terrified of the sun.

"Intergalatic Civil War?"

"GENTRIFICATION!"

Great scene in a good movie. Stephen A. Smith does a spot on impersonation.

Watch out, you're going against the local narrative.

Kevin Smiths best writing was the New Jersey trilogy

The dialogue in those movies, especially Clerks and Chasing Amy, is brilliant.

I'm a big fan of the View Askewniverse films. I've actually been to the Quick Stop in person, definitely a lot smaller in real life. They are definitely great films that encapsulate indie 1990s cinema.

Unfortunately Kevin has been off doing some weird shite post-Clerks II. I think Zack and Miri is a mediocre comedy and Red State was an interesting watch; but his other films since Clerks II are just awful. His daughter is not a good actress and I wish he'd stop putting her in movies. The only reason I'm sort of glad Mallrats 2 and Clerks III have fizzled out is because I know he would push her as some kind of main character and just ruin the movies.

Agreed.

Smith was one of my favorite filmmakers during his Clerks, Mallrats, Chasing Amy, Dogma streak.

Those are still some of my favorite and most rewatchable movies.

The black guy using fake black rage to sell black comics to white people is the 5 funniest scene in any Smith film
