The throat slashing scene in Gone Girl bothered me for a more recent example. I've seen that done in movies a hundred times, but something about that one.

Event Horizon
This. Holy frick I thought it was only a Sci-fi film when I started it. Nope. Nope. Nope. To this day the ending scene is still one of the most fricked up and disturbing things Ive ever seen in a movie.
The last true "horror" flick I saw was the Hills have Eyes. That pregnant rape scene is when I said my horror days are officially over.
Misery ankle scene is pretty fricked up too.

I agree with The Blob, the original, as a kid.
Event horizon as an older kid
Either one of the leprechaun movies, or a similar movie where a prisoner wishes that his lawyer would "f@#k himself" and this wizard guy made him do it, literally made his legs rotate backwards, breaking bone sound and all...still disturbing to me

Goldblum's character puking acid on the guy's arm and feet in The Fly (this really gave me nightmares for awhile).

Things that have disturbed you in movies

I saw the fly at a very young age as well and the image definitely stuck with me. No idea how I managed to watch it but I had to have been only 3 or 4

Hobo with a Shotgun - It was a B grade movie and in like the opening scene there was some dude where his head was cut off and this lady in a wedding dress was dancing in his blood as it sprayed out from his body. I just turned it off after that.

Don't be afraid of me!
I remember watching X-Files where little green insect things came out at night and cocooned human beings alive. Scared me for a few nights when it got dark

Seeing Jaws at a very young age scarred me for life.

The opening scene in Law Abiding Citizen
In a 1999 Philadelphia violent home invasion, Clyde Shelton (Gerard Butler) is forced to witness the rape and murder of his wife and young daughter, by Clarence James Darby (Christian Stolte) and his accomplice Rupert Ames (Josh Stewart).
Yeah, I think I'll pass on that.

Any scene where someone is burning alive

Not a movie, but that happened to someone's daughter on the S5 premiere of Sons of Anarchy. He was forced to watch too.

Had a few scenes on Dexter of that happening. Also in the movie "The Knowing"
