The old cable model, with shows supported by ads was probably best for everyone - consumers, people who made shows, entertainment companies. Customers have to get a bunch of streaming plans to watch anything. Creatives aren’t getting paid as much for streaming shows. Entertainment companies are spending a fortune to constantly churn out content so people don’t cancel a streaming service. So much of that stuff is garbage and the good stuff is just buried under so much shite
