I started reading the comic books strictly out of curiosity and boredom. I really would rather not ruin the upcomming seasons, but I am hooked now. So how far should I go. Is there a certain number where I should stop reading as to not ruin future seasons?

Read all of them. So much better than the show.

So far, they have been and I have barely broken through to the really good stuff yet. i am just on 11. They have just gotten to Hershel's farm.

understatement of the century.

I watched the first 2 seasons then read the comics. halfway through the 3rd season, I quit watching that garbage because it ruined the comics

just read them all. The show has strayed pretty far from the comics. they kinda run in parallel and you mau find out what general idea is coming next, but you should be safe as far as direct spoilers are concerned.

just never mention that you read the comics in the show threads or the others will jump on you.

Perhaps I should create a thread for people who have read some, but not all of the comics so they could have a place to discuss the show. A kind of middle ground thread if you will.

I'm on the beginning of compendium 2 and it has already passed the show, tons of major differences...I wouldn't worry about spoilers

Just bought both compendiums on Amazon for $70 based on this thread alone. I've been hearing about how good the comics were, but I finally decided to pull the trigger. I'm getting stacked on the number of reading materials I have at home

hate to see someone spend $70 when you can get them free on the internet. But anyway they are great. Wish I could move them to my ipad.

Just bumped the official Walking Dead thread, it has a link to the comics on YouTube in the OP.

I didn't know that, but it wouldn't have changed anything. I prefer hard/paperback over electronic forms of reading. I am hoping to have a gigantic book collection/library at the end of my life.

I'm much the same way, but didn't get the compendiums, instead going with volume format. Much less of a wait between volumes than either the books or compendiums.

Just got them delivered today. I already read through Chapters 1-4 tonight (put in about 4 hours of reading). I can't put them down!

Has anyone bought the comics through their Kindle? I'm curious as to how a comic reads on it and if its worth buying. I have the basic Kindle (no color)

I was surprised how much it did. Crazy.

Comics are in black and white, so color won't matter. However, I can't tell you about reading them on a kindle. For my laptop I had to download a comic reader program, so there could be something similar for the kindle.
