You didn't miss anything. The coaches comments after the performances are beyond useless. They praise every contestant and even when they make a note of something that went wrong they are sure to form it in the guise of a complement (i.e Luke's flub at the beginning of his song)

I think Sugar and Ryan go home easily.

I mentioned the big notes during the song that I thought started off pitchy, but then were fine. Twice I heard the same thing.

You really didn't miss anything. There were no home runs/out of the park type performances.

I hope Sugar goes. I'm still ticked about Elyjah. I was really looking forward to hearing more from him.

I liked DaNica, but I don't know the song and someone else committed that they didn't care for her version of it.

I said I didn't like how much the musical arrangement was changed by Pharrell, BUT DaNica's vocal was still very good. Going from the original Radiohead version merging soft guitar into a wall of sound back and forth around the lyrics, which better showcases the songwriter's angst and despair over a girl and his perceived self worthlessness, to horns and swing type shite just wasn't a great idea nor fit. The original music fits the lyrics much, much better. Regardless, DaNica still did a great job vocally but it didn't have the impact it could have.

I'll expound, I wasn't sure when Ryan sang that there was an audio issue or not, but thought he was very marginal, especially the notes they were praising him for, my wife was very critical of his vocals. I thought Ricky should have stayed over him, not that either will win,but Gwen seemed enamored with Ryan's looks. I thought TJ took a step back, not forward, but the coaches can say what they want.

It seems like every show, 2-3 songs will sound very flat on audio and have slightly muffled vocals, + the video doesn't seem 1080p quality. Doesn't matter if I toggle from surround to stereo, still flat. Maybe the studio sound is quite different in the venue compared to what we get, don't know, but the production level is not the highest quality.

The judges commented that they couldn't even hear one of the songs. I can't recall which one it was. I think it was one of Adam's team.

Sugar just destroyed her song for the instant save.

We will see if America agrees

I think I could have beat those two girls. No chance in a 2 girl vs. 1 guy situation. The girls are splitting votes. I think even 1 v. 1, the guy would still have the edge.

It was Matt McAndrew. You think they would have this shite figured out by now on how to balance the sound.

You were right, nothing spectacular from Monday night at all. Can't really complain with those that went home either.

For me the next 2 to go are Anita and Ryan

I don't know about Anita. Those Jamaicans are apparently voters. Tessanne Chin sure wasn't my favorite, but she won, though she was better than Anita as far as her voice.

Blake and Pharrell both wasted those saves like many of us said they did. Both those girls went home as predicted. We could still have John David and Elyjuh right now.

In the save Ryan was as bad as Jessie, with Sugar being moderately better than those two. Whatevs, they were all going home sooner than the others. The Sugar save over Elyjuh continues to be the biggest head scratcher, CWB over JD still appears to be strategic and not splitting the country vote between two guys.

I can see DaNica and Damien in the final two, maybe if Luke gets his stuff together he can squeeze in. The wife likes Chris' voice and thinks his talent is not showing fully, I generally dislike the type of music he sings, much like Ryan.

I think Sugar is giving Pharrell blowies.

Also, Gwen looked great last night. How she has those legs at that age. Unreal.

I still get their names confused. One of them probably goes next week. I thought Luke would be in the bottom due to the screw ups, but looks like he's got a strong fan base plus the judges' praise helped I would think.

Interesting that Gwen ended up with a sweep like Adam.

Chris is tall with almost shaved head and sings some sort of "Caucasianized" R&B while Ryan is boy band poster child and sings music in that vein. Personally, I believe Chris has the much better voice of the two, just can't get into the tunes either does.
