That just made me realize how old the show is, and how old I am. Something I'm not keen on being reminded of
Thank you for bringing up that thought on my birthday. Now I am celebrating existential dread.

South Park has the benefit of being a social satire. As long as there is something going on in the world that Matt & Trey want to comment on, the show will continue. Also the public have been accustomed to South Park satirizing pop culture. The pandemic episode was such a relief and was highly anticipated and delivered.

The Tonight Show
The Simpsons
All once great institutions of television that quite literally no one talks or cares about anymore.

The Simpsons has carried on so far past its prime that when the short film featuring Maggie Simpson played before Disney's "Onward" in theaters, there was a feeling of, "Oh, The Simpsons! I remember that show!" Which would be fine if not for the fact that it's somehow still on the air. I've not discussed a new Simpsons episode with anyone in real life since the early 2000s.

Trey is worth $600 million and Matt is worth $700 million. One more major deal and they will be the first billionaire cartoonists since Walt Disney.
Is that true? And if so, how does Matt have more than Trey seeing as how he's more involved (and I believe has more "titles" than Matt)?

Matt is apparently a very savvy business man. He apparently has more business contacts in Hollywood had kept the duo one step ahead of the curve through the entire history of South Park. (They were somehow smart enough to request streaming rights all the way back in 2000...8 years before the rest of Hollywood took note of the potential for streaming during the 2008 writers' strike.)
Perhaps Matt Stone's additional worth is a result of the role he plays in keeping them financially independent and capable of doing their work without interference?
