I just saw it for the 2nd time, what is the green crystal looking thing under the mural of the queen in the face tomb, Holloway says "This is just another tomb." Didn't remember this part, and haven't seen it talked about.

And for some reason, after all his work up to this point, this makes this otherwise "intelligent" scientist to go on a poor me unending bender which leads to his demise - makes total sense. So well written - hope it wins Oscar for Best Screenplay - obviously desrves it.

Same thing I thought about Lindeloff.

If I wanted to use my own imagination I wouldn't bother to go see the movie in the first place.

I'm ok with leaving some questions in a movie like Inception when the question is irrelevant to the rest of the movie, but the hype and anticipation of Prometheus was based on learning about earlier events in the Alien Universe.

It didn't have to be a strict prequel with face huggers and acid bleeding xenomorphs but it needed something more than pointless questions.

I can't lie,that's funny

On that note, I think you are still butthurt over Lost and looking for reasons to stick it to Lindelof.

Oh, I'm still butthurt over Lost.

And he's pulling the same shite here.

If that sumbitch gets close to Batman, Lord of the Rings or any thing else I hold dear there's going to be some fisticuffs.

That is your own fault. They never said it was a direct prequel. They only said it was set in the same universe.

I would love for you to offer some constructive critism to keep the haters & fans engaged

FYI I was really looking forward to this movie. I am a Ridley Scott fan, loved the first 3 Alien flicks - they all stand alone as unique, interesting movies. I wouldn't have cared if Prometheus didn't have anything to do with Alien, I wanted to see a cool sci-fi flick. And yes, it was gorgeous to look at, saw it in Imax. Previous posters are asking all relevant questions about why or what happened, and those questions may be left up to our imagination, but there are many obvious (to me anyway) problems with movie that left me disappointed. Looking forward to the director's cut for hope.

Went and saw it today. Thought it was great. Went in to be entertained, and it did that.

I'm a huge Alien/Aliens fan it made me want to rewatch them immediately.

Not sure how you get to the origins of man from the original Alien movie.

I would've preferred if they'd made two movies... A movie about the origins of man and a prequel to Alien.

How can you love a movie that's got more holes than a block of Tom and Jerry swiss cheese?

We can agree on that.

For the record, I I thought the movie was good. Not great, but not shite either.

I wanted it to be amazing, and so in a sense I was disappointed, but it wasn't as bad as you and Lacour are making it out to be. I think it is great that it has sparked so much discussion and postulating. How many other recent films have done that?

Not my fault. This movie was marketed and sold as Alien universe. The first teaser trailer was basically a copy of the original Alien trailer with the opening letters and theme.

Either way it's like I said. It didn't need to be a direct prequel/connection the original movie. What it did need to do though was not just leave you guessing for answers to the plot of this movie.

If all questions were answered, would we be having a 10 page discussion/debate? I love when movie/stories create this fervor and have the audience actively engaged for days after seeing the film.

well this movie isn't sparking discussion b/c some questions were left unanswered

it's being discussed b/c there are some gaping plot holes and inconsistencies that don't make sense, with people defending the movie

When the discussion is about how good the movie is, that's probably not a good thing.

it's hard to rank the first 3 movies + prometheus b/c they're so different in terms of tone/genre

it's easy to rank #4, b/c it was a horrible, horrible movie
