That beginning of the Internet era is always hilarious

In the first fast and the furious, the one kid that works in the shop who later dies, basically has a half decent grasp of photoshop and Paul Walker anoints that “he should be in MIT or something” and I think we’re actually supposed to believe that this makes him a next level computer genius because he was able to edit an image

Wasn't Hackers released the same year?

I LOVED this movie as a kid. To a 12 year old, being able to order pizza on the computer is the stuff dreams are made of.

The mid-late 90s had a great brief moment just like the 1979s paranoia political thrillers where it actually exposed and foresaw the corruption, power, and terror of internet and tech.

So many films of that time, Hackers, The Net, Mission Impossible, Enemy of the State, all had that vibe.

Too bad no one today makes films if that genre and the terror of modern internet/social media platforms and big tech. I would say it's quite warranted.

Great movie. I'd rate it a 10 but Scott Caan's hair pushes it to 11.

Interesting...
quote:

Sandra Bullock has broken her silence during her marriage crisis, denying an Internet report there's a sex tape with her and husband Jesse James.

"There is no sex tape," she says in a statement to PEOPLE on Tuesday. "There never has been one and there never will be one."

quote:

"Jesse James reportedly has a sex tape of her engaged in more than simply sex. Bullock was penetrated anally by a shotgun, wore a mustache made of human excrement, and had sex with Nazi paraphernalia scattered around the room.

I saw something one day that said "Today's kids will click on that icon and never know what it actually is.." and thought holy shite, how true is that shite.

A while back I found some 3 1/4 floppy disks from back in college. I wanted to see what was on them but have no idea how to since computers don't have those slots anymore.

when this came out ordering pizza online was like "OMG WOW what if you could order pissza from your computer.!?!?!"

Yeah it was unheard of, especially ordering plane tickets online.

The internet was so niche back then. It's crazy to think about it now.
