Wasn't the horror movie IT a summer movie? I seem to remember a lot of sunny-day lake swimming by the kids. Probably goes for a lot of the camp-centered slasher movies & camp-comedies, too.
I'm pretty sure E.T. doesn't qualify as it was around Halloween bc the kids & ET dressed up in costumes trick or treating and also were wearing hoodies/layered jackets on the bike flight.
