Every time you think they've done the worst thing ever, the next segment introduces something worse somehow.
I read this before I watched. As the show progressed, I kept thinking, "Yep, it did get worse."
David is a narcissist and, like his old cellie said, thinks he's the smartest guy in the room. He can't resist bragging about stuff that he may or may not have actually done, and he thinks he can talk his way out of anything.
He reminded me of the inventor of the modern bullet resistant vest in Second Chance, now on Showtime/Paramount+. When confronted with something that he plainly did wrong, he laughs, minimizes it, and acts like the whole thing is just ridiculous because everyone else got it all wrong. Then the doc maker cuts to a shot of a picture or document that shows that he is lying his arse off.
It won't be long before he violates parole (again) for some dumb shite and ends up back in prison. He can't help himself.

I mean he was easily caught in two lies in one sitting in the documentary. When they said he wrote on his jail cell wall "David (forget the guys name) is going to die" he tells them laughing "I wrote that he is going to die of aids". Well they show a picture of it in the jail cell and it clearly doesn't say the aids part.
Then he talks about not having a gun on him because he's not even a gun guy, that he's just never been in to them. 15 minutes later he's talking about dropping off one gun with a gunsmith to get one of his 9mm worked on. I thought you weren't a gun guy?
Thinking back on it, I'm kind of disappointed in the guy that made the documentary. The dude was legit about to confess to a murder with the cameras rolling and you tell him you don't want to hear about it? Come on man. You're making this documentary to show how jacked up this dude is and how he should be in jail for life and you are scared to hear him commit to a murder. You could have just bumped your documentary up to another level. Could have been a Robert Durst type ending.

David Sconce is a textbook sociopath, right?

I think that's exactly why he didn't. He'd need to livestream it for his own safety.
