This might be the main reason I will get Disney +. John Favreau at the helm so you know it is in good hands. Judging by this footage it looks like a lot of money was put into this. Real high quality looking show and has the Rogue One feel to it. Can't wait.

There's leaked footage of a trailer as well. Everything looks great so far.

I’m just finally glad it’s a male character in the main role again.

John Favreau

If they gave me half a billion and told me to start a new franchise he’d be my first call.

If they’d kept Robert Rodriguez on John Carter it would be a cult classic. If they’d kept it with Favreau it would be a franchise.

He is one of the heavy hitters that made the MCU what it is today with Iron Man. Anything that has Favreau's name tied to it is an automatic view from me.

If Disney were smart they'd have Favreau heading their entire star wars division and boot Kennedy and everyone associated with her.

This is the best looking thing star wars has done in decades. You can just tell Favreau gets it. He gets what fans want and what makes good stories.

Remember, without Favreau, there is no Marvel success today.

It's also looks incredibly cast (which is another of Favreu's strong points going back his entire career).

fricking Pedro Pascal is perfect. Gina Carano is a legit badass female, you also have screen acting and action legends like Carl Weathers and Nick Nolte cast. I don't know how this fails.

I'll never watch another Abrams/Kennedy/Johnson Star wars property again, but this finally seems like someone who understands what it's all about.

In some ways his success would be a problem, because it would repudiate Kennedy’s choices.

Good problem to have though.

I watched the Mandalorian panel today. One of the things Favreau said was that he wrote all the story up before he even presented it to Lucasfilm because he didn’t want to have to argue over details during development. He basically said if it was already written, they’d be more likely to just go with what he had.

Also another thing that came across during the panel is how intimately involved Dave Filoni is with the project. I believe Filoni is the most valuable person to have at Lucasfilm to help ensure that Star Wars looks and feels how most of us would like. I am extremely encouraged not only by Favreu but also by having Filoni so close to the project as well. I would pay the Disney+ sub just for this now. I am sold.

I find it funny how some of yall want to pin every little thing on her while also not giving her any credit. Favreau specifically thanked Kathleen Kennedy for bringing him in and teaming him up with Filoni.

To give credit where credit is due, Kathleen Kennedy is going to go down as one of the greatest producers of all time. When it comes to the logistics of getting a movie made she is in a class by herself. If you tell her we need this, this, and this to get a movie made... you will get them.

Where she isn't good is at story details. Hence her not reigning in Rian Johnson. Kennedy is the person you come to with a good story and she sees it gets made. If someone good had been given creative control and Kennedy left to attend to the technical and logistics details Star Wars would be a model franchise.

From the limited footage this looks great. Favreau, Taika, Filoni, very hard to not get excited.

So far they seemed to do SO much better when they're not trying to build onto the original trilogy with a new trilogy, but rather either standalone projects or "gap" projects.

Solo wasn't great, but it was a fun bit of movie that I didn't mind seeing.

Rogue One was pretty dang good.

Compared to The Force Awakens and The Last Jedi, and you'll see that they do so much better stepping aside from the lengthy storytelling.
