Really wanted to get into this show. I like the character John Smith, but pretty much everything with the other main characters and the Japanese make this show just too boring for me.

It is compelling, particularly if you're into the period - this is a period piece set in the early/mid 1960s in an alternative timeline where German developed the bomb first, defeated the allies, and the U.S. is divided into three zones - Japanese (West Coast), German (East Coast) and a neutral zone around the Rockies.
It follows American resistance groups, American collaborators and German/Japanese authorities with science fiction elements.
The acting is stellar - I dig it quite a bit.

In my opinion it’s better than a lot of the cable/streaming shows, it might take a little to get you pulled in but its worth it, especially if you’re into WW2 and what could’ve happened.

It’s good. Many of the characters are annoying in season 1 but they get better. It doesn’t do as much world building as I would like though.

It’s a solid show overall. It could have been better, and has been a little uneven at times, but it has hit its stride.
The best characters have been a Nazi and the head of the Japanese secret police.

My only complaint would be the show doesn’t go enough into detail of the actual war, bits and pieces here and there, especially Season 3 but it could have been so much more. I’m only in the 1st episode of Season 4 so maybe that will change.

Good show? Yes. Season 1 was a bit weak but decent. It hit its stride in seasons 2 and 3. Captivating? Not quite but very good.
