I've been waiting for this movie to be made for overb30 years. September 12, 2025 it will finally happen. I just hope they do it justice.

Have read it at least 5x in the last 20 years. High hopes but I just don’t see it translating well.

Just started re-reading this and wondering if a movie would ever get made.
Since Rage will never be made, I think this leaves Roadwork as the last regular Bachman book to await an adaptation. And that likely takes some updating to do since it was set squarely in the Oil Crisis days.

I think it has a lot of the same problems as something like Lord Of The Flies.
Requiring so many young actors means that the talent pool will likely be a bit shallow.

Spoilers?
I just think with so much of the narrative being internal with fairly uneventful dialogue all the while just walking will be hard to portray in a really entertaining way.
Like you can only have so many meaningful scenes of boys being gunned down.
I have a feeling the movie is going to rely heavy on flashbacks.
