The Last Waltz - where does it rank?

not many docs that I will stop and watch anytime they are on, but this is one.

Knowing the backstory takes some of the luster off for me, personally, but it's a great concert film

Yeah, partly. I'm just not a big Robbie fan more than anything. Not one shot of Richard singing, but tons of closeups of Robbie? He's a doucher

Everything said here. Stop making Sense is tGOAT, but The Last Waltz is great. Would have been a lot better if Marty could have gotten Robertson's wiener out of his mouth.

From my understanding, Robbie strong-armed the whole "Last Waltz" thing, and the other band members succumbed to the pressure. The other guys wanted to continue, but because that movie practically elevated Robbie into legend status (unfairly), it kinda killed their career moving forward...

Yeah this, he kind of manipulated it so that he would shows as the star of the band. He did them other boys wrong and this was kind of the showcase of that.
