The Hustler w/ Craig Ferguson

New primetime game show on ABC and it's an absolute delight, due mostly to the legend that is Craig Ferguson and his hosting ability, but also because the format is so damn engaging. The show production is also top notch.
Think Clue meets To Tell the Truth with a dash of Jeopardy, and you basically have the format for the show.
ABC is really pushing these primetime game shows now, but this one is by far the best. The rest kind of suck, actually, especially The Chase.
And for Ferguson fans, the snake mug even makes an appearence in tonight's episode.

I tried to get into on episode 1... but it turned into 3 girls screaming at each other that they weren’t the hustler and it was just too much .

The ending of every show does kind of turn into a shite show, but the first 50 minutes is actually pretty good.

i like it. Ferguson is a great host as always.

I’ve enjoyed it so far. Ferguson is great as always. It reminds me of The Mole.

Enjoyed it! Tonight I thought it was the Principal off the bat but gradually began to think it was the woman with the clues and her answering the questions at the end to make the $ more. She seemed to comfortable.

I caught the last 10 minutes tonight, and all the yelling and arguing turned me off. I hear enough of that elsewhere.

The leopard skin print rug and the Molly Ringwald questions should have been absolute dead giveaways, but I was still convinced it was the principle almost until the very end.
When I saw how emphatic he was that it was the woman, that was kind of the the kicker.
My only fault in the show is that the Hustler Does not explain how they know all of the answers to the questions and expound on some of the bio more... Like how and why the woman was recruited y the CIA out of HS and why she goes to Disney for a month every year.
The week before, th person expounded a little bit more, but it still wasn't enough.

When did the first two episodes run? We had a series recording set for this, and it didn't begin until Episode 3 for us.

Agreed. Hired by the CIA to conduct ops in China is a pretty big reveal, just to leave hanging.
This is very much like a live action version of The Faker in one of the Jackbox Games packs.

I think it started on Jan 7. Only 2 weeks have aired that I know of.

It amazes me how there's one player, usually a man, almost every week who absolutely dead nails who the Hustler is, and then there's one person (usually a woman) who is totally on the fence.
I don't think it's any coincidence that the only episode where the Hustler actually pulled off the scam and won was nothing but 3 women left in the final round.
Spoilers below:
I also love how the Tex guy tonight lied about being a pig farmer and he wasnt even the Hustler. The older lady frolm New York has him figured out that he was some kind of cop-like professional.
The stupidest move of the night was the Jersey guy getting rid of the New York woman. She was the only other person there who would have been a Bette Middler/Broadway fan and would have been a non Texan Cowboys fan (NY/New Jersey has a ton of Cowboys fans).
I almost thought the blonde was the Hustler, but it was basically too on the nose since she kept answering all the questions correctly.
I don't know how people don't like this show. The premise is good, the production and set is great, and Craig as the host is phenomenal. It makes me miss his show even more now.

That's what I love the most about the show. The three trying to convince each other that they aren't the hustler.
This is definitely my favorite game show, ever. Then To Tell the Truth.

Keeping the Tex guy was a horrible decision. No way was that dude doing yoga every day.
He should have kept the other woman.

Can't believe that Librarian guy switched his answer at the last second, only to lose himself 60K.
Tge lawyer kid was steaming you could tell, but he should have persuaded the guy better I guess.
After the last 2 questions, it was pretty clear the woman was the Hustler. I thought she royalty screwed up, though, when she got rid of the home school mom.
If the libaray man wasn't so stupid, it would have cost her the winnings, because the other woman was clearly giving of "Hustler vibes" and was a major distraction from the real person.
