I wasn't gonna read them and my girl talked me into it. She said it wasn't just a chick book. I was surprised that the first book was really good. My question is are the other books as good and does it turn more into a love story?

overall, i thought it was a great story. i thought they got progressively worse. i found myself hoping katniss would get shot.

There is a good amount of action in all three. Though the ending of the third feels somewhat rushed. Not sure if there is a true climax in the third book.

I disagree. I really enjoyed the third book.

It rarely gets gooey, but the love triangle plays a larger role in the later books.

SPOILERS

Sure there is a climax, it is with the assassination of the rebel President and exoneration of Katniss.

The lack of a fulfilling happy ending comes from one of the points the author is trying to put across: in the real world there rarely are those happy endings. The bear the scars of the wars you have fought forever.

Why even post that in a threAd asking about the two other books. a-hole. Did you just have to share your knowledge?

Did you seriously just ignore the spoiler warning and blame me for it?

Quoting the spoiler (for no reason) with not even my warning warning is a bigger dick move than what I did.

I answered your question.

And then I replied to someone else (see the "to" line?) who WAS talking about the ending of the third book.

It was clearly labelled as spoilers. If you kept on reading that isn't my fault in the slightest.

I like how you didn't remove the unwarned spoilers in your quote. "Got it ruined for me so frick everyone else"

Rickdad, why don't you hook up others that haven't read the books and edit the thread title to warn about the spoilers that are in here now.

Sid, I know you posted a warning man but it's usually more koscher to keep that kind of spoiler out of a thread like this. Even with the warning, it's hard not to see it.

They are worth reading Rickdad and I agree that Katpiss got on nerves by the end

Fixed it. And yeah still kinda hard to miss with his spoilers. The other guy wasn't even asking a question. I guess dude just wanted to try and show his knowledge. shite it's a thread asking about the last two books and the 5 th frickin post tells how the story ends. Brilliant

The "show off knowledge" angle would make sense if it was any kind of achievement to have finished them.

You can knock out all three in a day of dedicated reading, 2 at at more casual pace.

Someone meantioned not being sure about something, and I offered my take. That's all.

I liked the third book but I thought it would be a more happy ending than what we got. But I guess in the end, what we got is the best that could be hoped for considering the circumstances.

Seemed redundant by the end...I was ready for the series to be over by the time I finished the 3rd book...it was worth finishing though..,
