My boys recently got into this show again, we stopped after season three. Doing a rewatch now on Netflix. Is it still good? I think they are in season 5 and still going.

The least preachy of the SJW superhero shows and probably the most fun. It’s the only one I still watch.

It has a notable drop off in season 4 and 5. I’ve pretty much quit watching and just read episode reviews to see if it gets good again.

I got bored after 2 seasons. The main character is whiny and not entertaining and most of his fights should’ve been over in a nanosecond except the writers clearly handcuff his powers. I still liked the show overall but the constant time travel and alternate dimension stuff got tiresome.

That’s my wife’s biggest complaint is the number of alternate Earths and timelines. It’s confusing at times. I agree Flash is whiny but that’s CW, they love drama and relationships a lot. She also hates Wally right now. Says he’s too bitchy and bratty.

It was the villain, or lack thereof, that killed it for me. Cicada may be the worst villain in the entire Arrowverse. Even worse than the hacker guy from Arrow/Person of Interest.

Yep. I don't know if it is the actor, the writers, or the directors, or some unholy combination of all three but he just killed interest in the show.
A superhero show, or movie, needs a great villain. Sometimes it needs a great villain more then it needs a great hero. Cicada is either a villain of the week or a three part mini-story arc.

Making the Freeze ray guy a recurring villain was dumb. I can get past the corny dialogue but there’s no possibility of that guy ever being an actual threat to Flash.

All of them suck- Arrow/Legend. Its just a chore to watch and like the other poster said I just read reviews.

I mean, Captain Cold is one of Flash’s most enduring enemies, if not his most famous adversary.

Leonard Snart alternates between adversary and ally to the Flash across the entirety of the comic story.
His big thing is his sense of honor. If you work for him, you do not kill innocent people, you don't do drugs, and you certainly don't commit sex crimes.

"Freeze ray guy" is not a recurring villain. But I'd prefer him to the current baddie.

This show isn't for you then. You need to suspend comic book levels of disbelief to enjoy the CW Flash.

Last season sucked. This season still isn’t as good as S1 and S2, but it’s enjoyable.

Ok we’ll see how long the show keeps my kids interested. They like the season 3 story with the speed god. My oldest is a huge Harry Potter fan and loves seeing Malfoy on the show.

While I still get some enjoyment of this season, I agree with you here. The daughter is terrible, and the stories overall have been quite bland. There are a few gems in there though.
Still it's a fun watch for family time.
