Very nice . The Christmas specials haven't been all that great, but the last few have been pretty good and this one looks to be as well. Hopefully this is Clara's send off. I haven't been as down on her this season as others (I actually think that her and Cappaldi have played quite nicely off of each other), but I really don't see what else they can do with that character

I thought Jenna Coleman actually said she's going to keep pressing on and the leaving rumors aren't true.

Please let this be true.

Speaking of Doctor Who, my daughter was watching a Christmas movie last night with David Tennet in it, so I watched it for a while with her. It was horrible. Absolutely horrible. Had Joanna Page in it as well. And the guy that played Winston Churchill in Doctor Who. Kept waiting for the Tardis to show up.

She hasn't said anything other than what she and Moffatt have said all year.

What you're thinking of is a story by the paper that "broke" the story of her leaving "breaking" a story that she may stay. It's how British tv works.

Solid Christmas special. So, does it look like Coleman is staying?

The end said the Doctor and Clara were returning next season so it looks like Coleman will be staying on at least into next season. I wouldn't be surprised if she left before the end of next season, though.

How do we know the Doctor still wasn't dreaming at the end?

They almost had us there at the end, but changed it. The credits stated that The Doctor and Clara will return next year.

Nice special this year.

Didn't catch that. Coleman is now the longest running companion (according to a British newspaper who posted a recap). I'm happy with that.

ETA: If they use the Doctor still dreaming as an excuse to get rid if Coleman early next season, I'll quit the show.

Enjoyable Christmas special. I called every dream level except the last one, which fooled me. I really thought Clara was leaving.

you either read that wrong or they don't have a clue... that's in no way correct.

I was ready for a new companion. Clara was getting a bit stale for my likeing. However I recently watched Jenna Coleman doing a topless scene and now I'm pulling for her return.

Didn't want to possibly spoil Clara's fate, do waited to give my opinions

Spoilers:

Clara stays (at least to mid-season)

Odd episode. Too inceptiony for my taste, but still good

Great monster

The Pink scenes were done really well

I really don't want Shona as the next companion. She annoyed me. Also, she'd probably be more clingy than Rose

Santa was fun. Liked that they left it open that he's real

All season, Moffatt has been referencing his old episodes. The Library two parter seems to be the decoder for most of this season.

I love Clara short jokes

I love Capaldi's Doctor so much

Santa and the doctor sparring was great. I loved when Santa said his sleigh was bigger on the inside and the elves made a look like the doctor just got served/burned/etc.

This episode held up very well with rewatch. Being a fan of doctor who, alien, and inception helped. A few thoughts:

Calpadi, as always was excellent. He is really becoming my favorite doctor. I think we saw in this episode what we can expect from him next season. There was no internal conflict about who he is or whether he is a good man. I enjoyed that arc but it is behind him. He is very comfortable now being the idiot in the box who is passing through, helping out. I am looking forward to more of this next season.

Favorite line among many great lines: "you have a horror movie called alien? That's really offensive. No wonder everyone keeps invading you."

I was skeptical of using Santa claus but both he and the elves were definite highlights of the episode.

I'm not sure how/when everybody was attacked, or if it makes sense. It seemed like they were all simultaneously attacked in different places. And since the attack only lasts a very short time in real time, the coordination has to precise. There was a comment about being in different time zones suggesting it didn't have to be so precise, but they were clearly all on Christmas. And if it is across timelines I'd expect a lot more victims within the shared dream. It wasn't enough to ruin the episode but it was distracting to think about.

Overall solid ending to what is my personal favorite new who season.

i hope they ditch the whole "juggle the boyfriend" theme, that's already played out and tired... at least let her end on a high note.
