I think there are 3 guys in this post that think SP has declined since 2005 (9 years ago).

Everyone else is in agreement that South Park was and still is aweseme-o.

I like the earlier seasons much better than most here. I think you all are not giving them enough credit. I just like them more because frankly they were funnier. I can watch Rainforest Scmainforest or I'm a little bit country 1000 times and laugh every time. I'd say 90% of the last few seasons I don't give 2 shits about watching in reruns.

Freaux was right about South Park getting smarter. I think the Scause episode was one of their best ones ever, but it really wasn't as funny as an old woman yelling "make love to me Randy, please".

And while I'd like to say they rely on pop culture and current events too much, that part is really hit or miss for me also. I totally didn't get anything in the Thanksgiving /Thor/ Ancient Aliens one because I hadn't seen Thor or Ancient Aliens. But the Whale Whores episode is one of my favorites because I got everything. The Facebook one also.

Ive been saying for years that I think they are just trying to do too much. The animation is more sophisticated, a lot more happens in every episode it seems, they really dive into psychological profiles of the characters, it just doesn't make me laugh much anymore.

Did I mention y'all need to give the earlier seasons more credit?
You pretty much nailed it in this post

Yea there is more going on now as far as social commentary is concerned. But it's just not anywhere near as funny as it used to be.
