Might be one of the funniest movies I’ve ever seen. I certainly don’t remember the last time I cried during a movie from laughing and me and the person I watched it with were both crying with laughter at a certain scene.
Basic premise is it’s a story set in the Middle Ages where a charismatic circus clown ends up at the kings court full of intrigue and he has to survive.
This really feels like the predecessor of a Mel Brooks movie. It isn’t irreverent like a Mel Brooks movie but it still has that absurdist take on comedy.
The way this movie plays with words and it’s ability for its actors is simply remarkable. This is where the phrase
“get it”
“Got it”
“Good”
Comes from.
If your in the right mood for it, this is a definite watch. There’s a reason why now most consider this one of the best comedies ever made.

Danny Kay was a more talented Jim Carey back in those days. Enjoyed The Kid From Brooklyn as well.

No, it’s the flagon with the dragon. Forget about the chalice from the palace

Yeah, supposedly he was pretty difficult to work with like Jim Carey too. But there’s no doubt his talent level was great across the board. He didn’t consider himself a comedian, but an entertainer
