‘88 version fleshed out the gory details the ‘58 version had no tech to create. I was 11-12 when I saw the ‘58 Blob. Scared the shite out of me. Seemed so plausible. I hated putting the garbage cans out after dark for months after, but my Mom made me do it. So I did with the quickness.
Saw the ‘88 Blob as a 30-something adult. Ok, good effects, gory... but lacked the initial shock value of first version. Maybe that means I wasn’t 11-12 anymore?
But I still prefer getting the trash out before dark. And no, I do that on my own volition now. Imma big boy.
