Pretty happy. Just because Leia had feeling for Han doesn’t mean Luke doesn’t have feeling for Leia

Lucas considered it a love triangle. Like I said a very romantic scene from luke and leia was in the script. Saying Lucas never intended for Luke and Leia to end up as romantic interests at all is disingenuous.

In “Heir to the Jedi” Like tells Nakari he “yearned” for Leia.

They kiss again in the Old School comics

Obviously his feelings evolve
over time but he was at some point romantically interested in Leia. and then she became his sister.

Look, I can agree with the notion that a bit of retconning is permissible to advance story and take it in a new direction, but it has to have limits. As an example, in the Raimi Spider-man movies, I didn’t like the organic webshooters or the total change of the Gwen Stacy arc, but I came to really like those films. The retcon of Sandman as the real killer of Uncle Ben took it Too far and really hurt the third film while retroactively hurting the first film too.
The comic book story arc of Ben Reilly being the real Spider-man and the Peter Parker we knew being a clone was a retcon that people hated because it diminished everything that fans of the character had been following for years. That was a shitshow that sparked a nerd rebellion and forced Marveli to taking steps to retcon their frickup.

Most of the Disney SW stuff has been exactly the same. There is far too much meddling, diminishing established characters and storylines, introducing characters that frick with Disney’s own shows, changing timelines and making a convoluted mess. Doing it with a clear agenda and ham fisted social messaging is just bad for the property. It isn’t popular. It’s not good even as it’s own thing. The fans are responding and rightfully so. Pretending this is all just minor tweaks to the canon is disingenuous at best.
