Mud is a 2013 film. I'm getting sick and tired of people saying it was a 2012 one. The film premiered at Cannes in 2012, but it was not given a theatrical release until 2013 - thus making it a 2013 film. Crash had almost the exact same thing happen to it. It premiered in 2004 but was not given a release until 2005, thus making it a 2005 film.

Look it's listed as a 2012 film. It was first released in 2012. It's a 2012 film. It's not an opinion, it's a fact. Let it go.

I'm not on Twitter. Can someone tell me how a bunch of actors taking a selfie "breaks" Twitter?

too much traffic. if you've ever been on reddit during a big event, such as the super bowl or champions league finals, the same thing happens.

shite, it happens on here whenever LSU plays Bama.

But why would a selfie taken on a TV show cause Twitter traffic?

BTW, listening to them do it, you can hear JLaw almost instantly realizing that it would have an effect on Twitter.

And was it just me or did it seem like Ellen was dissing Meryl Streep all night?

If there was an ensemble cast Oscar, they'd have easily won, but yeah, individual performances clipped them out, and the film in general didn't deserve any awards.

Because Ellen was encouraging the viewers to retweet it to break the record (it did) and I guess enough housewives took her up on the challenge.

Crash is likewise listed as a 2004 film on IMDB. It won an Oscar for Best Picture for the 2005-06 season.

It premiered at TIFF on September 10, 2004 but got a theatrical release in May 2005.

Mud premiered at Cannes in May 2012 but didn't get a theatrical release until April 2013.

In conclusion, Mud was eligible (and only eligible) for the 2013-14 awards season.
