I just caught up on watching this show, but missed the lost memory episode because my dvr taped the end of baseball instead. Have they ever said if T.N. can communicate with the people in 2051 or what ever year it is in the future? Also, if they can't communicate with them, why do the people in the future care about killing T.N's leader?

In episode one, they said that communications could only occur when the gate is being used and people are coming through.

In a later episode, there was mention that maybe they could communicate at other times too.

I just came across this excerpt from an EW interview. Answers the communicatin with 2149 question and talks about more info on the Sixers coming soon.

quote:

EW: Will we see more of 2149?
RE: We don’t see a lot of 2149. We come to see the conspiracy with the Sixers is being orchestrated in 2149, and as we get toward the season finale we will go to 2149 and see that more explicitly. But most of our storytelling takes place in Terra Nova.
BB: When we do go there, it’s very cool.

EW: I hear you have a big cliffhanger planned for the finale?
RE: It’s kind of a cliffhanger. Everything is played out. All the elements come to a head, it’s a two-hour finale. The 11th Pilgrimage is scheduled to arrive — and who’s going to show up? The Sixer stuff gets answered and explained. We also tee up a new mystery, so in that sense it’s a cliffhanger.
RE: [Tonight’s show] is kind of a murder mystery. The week after [“Nightfall”] that is a big disaster movie. The next [“Proof”] is an intimate chamber piece that’s almost exclusively about Josh and Maddy–
BB: It’s a Hitchcockian thriller involving the kids.

RE: — And then next week [“Vs.”] is a big mythological show where Jim and Taylor go head-to-head.
EW: Clearly Taylor can communicate with the future. Is how that happens something we’re supposed to know, or is that deliberately being held back?
BB: When the portal is open, we can talk to the future. We can exchange data. So every four to six months we can talk. But in between we’re cut off.

Boo to the upcoming episode about the kids. Not interested in them enough at all for that.

Still not wowed by the show but I've found it worth keeping up with.

It's kept up with the intrigue so far. The writings at the waterfall is a piece that I'm curious to find out more about. They haven't wowed but they haven't fallen off into boredom like V did either. Until they do I'll keep watching.

Did they skip a week? The last episode aired was the one with the sixer girl right?

Yeah they skipped last week because of the World Series.

I was excited early on to see the guy killed by the dino, then they went hunting the dino that killed him. I'm thinking alright, looking good. Then, pussy cop says "We're not gonna kill it, right?"

Myth is right, PETA is all over this bitch show. They even saved a dino in an egg with a deformity and are gonna keep it as a pet. :banghead: :banghead: :banghead:

They won't harm any dinosaurs, but will quickly and without a trial exile humans from the colony to be dino food.

I'll let Myth handle the rest.

I think the "Sixers" are really "Occupy Terra Novans". They don't bathe, they look like hippies and they don't have a clear agenda. They just like camping out.

Oh Joy! The episode once again starts out in the freaking darkness and yes once again idiots are prancing about the dinosaur littered forest at NIGHT!

Hey sound editing guys, don't have a dinosaur growling and then have the red shirt soldier pretend not to hear it. If he can't hear it, then we can't hear it.

Why exactly is Clone Jack Cop so suspicious of a guy being eaten by a freaking dinosaur at night?

So far every episode has had some dinosaur carnage so why be suspicious?

Maybe if he had seen the scratches on the inside of the door THEN he could be suspicious but not before.

Omg, so the second blood automatically means the guy was murdered? The dinosaur could simply have taken captured prey into the shed then killed the unsuspecting red shirt when he walked in. Just way too many leaps to get straight from point A to Z.

OMG! We aren't killing this thing??? It ate a red shirt and it has tags in its belly.

How the FRACK does this idiot think they are going to get the tags? I swear the liberal hippie member of PETA writing this show should be put in a cage with a fracking tiger and see how much the tiger loves him for trying to get him freed.

Er.... how many people are in Terra Nova? It doesn't look that big. How could red shirt date someone and nobody know who and how could Evil Avatar Guy not know her?

Oh dear, PETA strikes again. Just last week I was wondering when they would have a pet dino like Dopey from Land Of The Lost...

Why would it be a tough decision to banish or even execute the murderer. I imagine Evil Avatar Guy has killed in the past. I don't see that he would have even a sliver of doubt about putting down a murderer. Heck exiling someone probably just sends them to the 6ers so exile isn't so bad.

Of course it is too early in the episode for that guy to even be the real killer.

Geez. Bunch of liberal hippies. First the wife now soulja boy is apologizing for harshly wanting the guy banished. That isn't harsh. Harsh is a bullet in the head which is what they should be doing.

Good lord. How does that fence stop anything. It really is one of the dumbest fences I have ever seen. With that damn budget couldn't they have built a semi-decent looking fence?

More hippies wanting to keep the MURDERER.

Ok, so the wife sheds no tears over the corpse of the murdered red shirt but cries over the MURDERER being banished.

Given the announced time of the banishment, wouldn't they all just expect the 6ers to come get the guy???

WTF? Clone Jack Cop just wanders out into the jungle after banished guy. By the way, the dialog in that scene makes no sense at all. Why would MURDERER be surprised he was exiled?

The next scene is even more implausible. There is no way they would have allowed the MURDERER right back into the colony without Evil Avatar Guy approving it. Nonsense. Who writes this crap?

Once again the red shirts at the gate should actually be banished too because they have failed at their duties in EVERY SINGLE EPISODE.

Oh, he just snuck him back in. Once again further evidence the red shirts guarding the gate should be court martialed.

So Evil Avatar Guy made the toughest decision of his life to send the FAKE MURDERER into exile with a weapon and supplies but won't lose sleep over sending the red shirt out there. Maybe he was in charge of the fence.

I can't wait for the episode when the PETA approved dino pet eats the little girl.

Would someone explain to me why the red shirt felt the need to kill the other red shirt over money. It's not like he could force the guy to pay him. Wouldn't it be much easier to just tell him to F OFF.

Heck, that isn't even a nitpick. That just makes no sense.

That and the baby ankylosaur they are now going to keep as a pet damned near drove me to changing the channel. I mean... seriouslY?? A pet that's going to be bigger than a f'ing horse and has a demolition ball as a tail?

Myth probably won't agree, but I think SGU was better. At least their spaceship has walls and they had no problem with killing hostile critters.

I'm waiting for this show to be cancelled then picked up by Al Gore's channel.

I think time has dulled your memory of SGU.

What critters? They only had two alien races the whole time, 3 if you count the robo drones.

I believe TN will probably pass SGU in overall badness especially given the HUGE budget, but I believe it is still possible to turn this thing around. Although that chance is pretty slim.

What if they can be domesticated? You'd be invincible riding one of those beasts.

Seriously, the attempted domestication of dinosaurs has to be a theme at some point. Flintstones, here we come!

It will have taken them 10 migrations (not sure how many years) to figure out how to do that? This from the same people whose "hard-arse" leader is worried about killing a dinosaur that ate one of his men? I think they would put clothes on it first.

Hmmmm. I might not have the show around long to beat up on.

Ratings continue to drop almost every week. Because of the expense, I am not sure they will get any extra time to develop a following.

Looks like one season may be all we get.

The lowest ratings for a scripted show on Fox except for Fringe which is pretty much dead.

It is Tuesday which means it is time for my running commentary on Terra Nova, a series soon to be cancelled due to poor ratings and expensive production costs. Although said expensive production costs evidently didn't include a fence that could keep bad guys in or out as well as keeping dinosaurs out.

Immeditately I see improvement. The episode starts in the daylight. I am sure it will go downhill from this point but it is a nice change of pace. Oh those shoes sure were tough to find.

So far so good, creepy parasite growing in the poor dude. Now if this show wanted to start garnering my respect, the parasite would bust out and kill the dude and we would have a whole alien thing going on. However, this is kiddy friendly and peta friendly so I am sure the dude will pull through in the end.

"Where are we?"
"Wherever you want to be."

Glad to see the dialog is still total crap.

So is everyone allowed to leave Terra Nova to wander about the dinosaur infested land at a whim whenever they want using the limited number of shitty tanks? How many people have to be killed before Evil Avatar guy gives the order for only approved missions off the base?

Just so you know a meteor crash can actually cause an EMP that would knock out power.

Why are there lights still running in the super computer room as well as the bubbles still percolating in the silly liquid computer container?

How and why was the shitty tank in the jungle when they were in the meadow when the meteor hit?

I'm confused, don't they also have live ammuntion as well as the shitty sonic weapons? I'm pretty sure they mentioned live ammo in a past episode.

"There are things out there that can snap it like a twig."

Glad to see Evil Avatar Guy agrees that the shitty fence it terrible.

Do they even keep a list of people leaving the complex? Shouldn't someone by now have alerted Evil Avatar Guy that a civilian is out on a romantic picnic with soulja boy? Oh wait, Soulja boy actually said NOBODY KNOWS WE ARE OUT HERE. Really? You can leave the big crappy fence with a vehicle without ANYONE noticing or asking where you are going.

That is it. The Red Shirts manning the gate really do need to be court martialed. Their incompetence is of a level not seen since.... acually never. Not Gilligan, not Agarn from FTroop, nobody shows the level of imcompetence as those red shirts manning the gate.

By the way, they were only 6 klicks out which is 3.6 miles. Seriously, they couldn't get back before dark only 3 miles away??? Simple things like this piss me off. Why not simply say they are 20 klicks away? For pete's sake, even 15 minute miles would put them back at the gate in one hour. At LEAST film the damn thing at dusk if you want us to believe they can't walk 2 miles before dark. I love how it went from bright light to pitch black in like 10 seconds.
Once again, this is a simple plot screw up that could EASILY have been avoided by simply placing them further away from the compound. Maybe a nitpick but also something that should have been easily corrected.

So they shielded the Super Computer Room but nothing else like the major power supply. Or how about keeping the chip making device in the shielded super computer room.

What a ridiculously convoluted way to attack Terra Nova. Let us go forth in the dark and herd a dinosaur into the compound. Since the shitty sonic rifles don't seem to do much harm to the dinosaurs seems to me like the 6ers could have done this at any point.

Also, this action sort of makes the 6ers a bit evil as a giant dinosaur bulldozing the compound would result in plenty of innocent deaths. So the idea that Evil Avatar Guy is evil and the 6ers are good sort of just got tossed out the window.

By the way, if they have no defenses which I am still not buying, but if they had none, how hard would it have been to build several bonfires. They have mentioned in past episodes that FIRE scares away the dinos, yet there they are sitting in the freaking dark, because that is the only way the big dino would get close to the camp. Oh so they needed a nice nick of the time device so they only lit the fire at the last second. Good to see both those guys are olympic bowmasters who could hit the 70 meter mark with one shot.

God I hate this show. Oh so that was a diversion. Pretty risky diversion. The dino could still have crashed into the camp. Well since they have shown guard towers surrounding the complex, I am sure nobody got in, right??? Maybe if they had a fence that didn't have HUGE gaps in it they could have stopped that attack.

This show is hilarious. Why was that guy up on the roof. All he has to do is head to the porous gate of non blocking yet he chose to climb on the roof.

Uh Oh! Peta is going to be pissed. They killed the parasite. Daylight and still nobody has noticed Soulja boy missing with Teen Girl. Boy that is a taut ship.

More night time meandering. Blah blah blah.

I could care less about the son and his plot to stop Terra Nova.

Does anyone still watching care about a single character. I know the show is still fairly new but I would pretty much cheer seeing a dino eat every single character.

This show suffers from the same problem SGU had. Zero humor. They need to add some humor. Everyone is dry and boring as hell.

The more I see this show, the more I am baffled that Speilburger had anything to do with it.

6er chick had the device when she lived in the camp so I am not sure what stopped her from giving it to Lucas back when she was in the camp.

This episode wasn't horrible but it also wasn't very good.

The litmus test for a good episode is that you would watch it again at some point in the future. So far there hasn't been a single episode I would want to revisit in the future.

With Lost, I used to watch the past seasons every year before the new season started. About all I want to do with this show is try to forget the utter incompetence of the red shirts at the gate.

Watched the first 20 minutes or so last night, and plan to get the rest in tonight or tomorrow. But I did notice myself enjoying the first 20 minutes last night more than usual. I loved the ridiculousness of the whole "the entire history of the world is in this ball" thing though.
