T2 - When John Conner talks crap to the meat heads

When John is arguing with the Arnold Terminator and he is yellling to let him go. The meat heads over hear it and come over to help him out. Did it seem out of place how John acted when they came over to ask him if he needed help? This never made since to me for him to act that way. Seemed like the normal person good or bad would have said something like, "thanks but we're ok". Every time I watch it that part bothers me for some reason.

I just took it as John is a street-wise master manipulator and can act however he needs for the situation at hand. It also seemed like he was realizing that the terminator will actually do whatever he says and took advantage of it. Also, he’s just kind of an a-hole

keep in mind the context of what this kid had been through. His mom seems nuts to everyone. He's been frustrated and confused for years, has foster parents who aren't empathetic, etc. And he's just a young, angry teenager.

Ohh.... now I get it.... Christian Bale was just method acting as John Conner when he yelled at that light guy on the set of Terminator Salvation.

He realized the Terminator would do anything he said and he was kind of getting off on that. They also used it as an opportunity for John to teach the Terminator that it’s not ok to kill people. It was actually important to the story for John to act like a dick right there.
