I'm sure I'll end up watching s2 because i did like s1 but will forte in that first episode did a lot of the work getting me into the whole thing.

I watched it over the weekend. Thought it was OK but not great.
There’s something about the show’s style that throws me off a bit. It’s like they couldn’t decide whether they wanted it to be kid-friendly or not and tried to walk the line. In the end it’s not really kid-friendly but also not nearly as dark as it seems like it should be given the story. It was pretty campy at times.. I don’t remember season 1 being as campy but maybe that’s just because it’s been so long since I watched it.
I will say that it got better as the season went on.

Wow, some of the writing is super cringe.
The kids 'sneaking' around the zoo/camp in broad daylight acting like a dozen or more soldiers wouldn't notice them instantly?
Big man and what's-her-name driving around in that beat up pickup truck, again in broad daylight, trying to evade a drone (which doesn't need to fly so close that it could be shot down by a slingshot, but oh well) and then just driving past a group of armed soldiers and barriers?
This is CW bad. I get what they WANT to have happen, but damn, they're not even trying.

A lot of really bad plot holes obviously and I think it's unclear if this is for teenagers or adults, but that's kind of neat in a way. It is artfully done.
It's especially kinda weird that people aren't getting sonograms to check to see if their babies are hybrids like every other baby that is being born..
