Last season was really good

Second season in a row with a completely worthless and weak person being voted out first.

None of the casts are able to actually survive. Any of the old casts would eat these folks alive

The tatted-up redhead is a salon owner - shocking.

That might be true of other "reality" shows, but I think the opposite is true for Survivor. It used to always be models/influencers that were already half a degree from some kind of fame anyway. I much prefer the current casting on Survivor (although I do miss some of the bikinis).
Jeff sort of addressed this on this week’s podcast. He said that because of COVID, he wanted a friendlier show that families could watch so he wasn’t mean to the quitters, etc but he realized they went too far. The contestants now get less food and tools than the old school contestants. The game’s shorter but 4 days without food or decent shelter are still 4 tough days.
Jeff’s casting notes for Jess were nothing like how she was on the island. In the old Survivor model, she would have been in a bigger tribe and might have had time to settle in and be herself.

Does it have to be recent? I can suggest a handful of seasons but they are from 10 seasons ago. Anything in the 20's and 30's are probably pretty good.
Nah really any of them are fine. Would probably wonder about the standard definition ones though

Dude just gave up on everything he did lmao
then said at tribal "i never give up".
jess was basically worthless and had no game at all.
if not for jess, the tatted redhead would be gone. did they forget already that she tried to go after the 2 stronger players?
"i'm not mad that we lost, i'm mad at myself for getting so emotional"... losing is the best reason for being emotional.
i made fire,
dude damned near talked himself out of the game at tribal.
"stop making the block hot" might be one of my favorite survivor quotes.
that sad little fake idol.

I'm 100% voting out that indian dude next time they are at tribal. What a fricking pussy. Crying asking them to not vote him out when he was never even a thought

Honestly there is a ranking of seasons on a website but I really enjoyed David vs Goliath season 37 and Cagayan Season 28.
Don't watch season 40 until you are ready to be spoiled for 20 seasons of winners. It's called winners at war and as the title suggests, it's all the past winners from season 20 + So all of those seasons will be spoiled if you watch that.

I'm sure you don't you white liberal bum. You're are the small % of people who ruined reality tv with this terrible diverse casting.

bro chilllll. I don't like the insane diverse casting either but it's not that serious
just don't watch?
just don't watch?

I haven’t watched survivor in a while. Since Jeff turned woke and quit using his saying.

Also, Jeff is insistent that new-era casts are getting way less food than back in the day.

You guys have any seasons relatively recent that were exciting.
If you mean from the modern era of survivor (which I kind of consider "modern" to be anything on Fiji), check out season 37 David vs. Goliath
If you're fine going with older classic seasons, season 7 Pearl Islands and season 18 Tocantins are my personal favorites.
Posted on 3/11/24 at 11:42 am to thatoneguy
Yeah Tocantins is a top 5 for me too. DvsG is probably my number 1

What I like more about this season is that there's genuine conflict and these people are fine with not liking each other, as opposed to the the other "New Era" seasons besides Shan/Ricard in 41 where everyone tries to hold hands and act like they're best friends.
Victoria from Season 38 was on Tyson's podcast for this past episode and, I've listened to some of the episode and, so far, she's been fantastic. I think too many podcasts nowadays don't give real opinion and just kiss the show's arse, Tyson has even sold out on his podcast a little bit, and I appreciate that Victoria didn't do that.
She made a great point how so many "New Era" people nowadays go on the show to make friends and sell merchandise, whereas she went on the show for the actual money (you know, the point of the show).
I just appreciated her calling the current state of the show out. I would argue a lot of contestants nowadays are also just interested in getting on the podcast circuit, as well.
The good news is that this season feels less like the other "New Era" mediocre seasons.
