I stopped watching when they created an episode about that black dude crying when the white guy called that doo rag a doo rag.

Bruce did have a concussion, and he has been invited back for a future season.

I felt like that was painfully obvious when he first did it and the medics were looking at him. Right when it happened, I pointed out to my wife that he just went headfirst directly into the wood. I was very surprised when the medics and Jeff were so happy go lucky initially. "Yay, he just needed to lay down. This is awesome". Seriously? He just smashed his head and was bleeding pretty badly. I'm glad he's getting a second chance. I can't imagine gearing up for this my entire life then hurting myself in the first 2 minutes.

Same, it could have been worse, at least it wasn't a neck injury which crossed my mind.

I wish the three-player journeys would go away entirely. Just leave the tribes together on the beach to figure shite out.

For some reason this is their answer to not having tribe swaps.

That was a really fun start to the season. I know producers were telling people behind the scenes the last month or so that this season was going to be good so I'm hopeful it's at least better than s43.

43 was a really good season. 41 was mediocre and 42 was a notch above 41.

Wait what? 43 was universally disliked in my experience. 42 was fantastic and 41 was blah.

I'll agree about 41, but I loved 43. Mike was a great winner, Cody and Jesse were fantastic players, some big moves throughout, and it certainly wasn't boring.

Highly disagree. Gabler, and anybody other than Jessie, was an unsatisfying winner for myself and those i watch with. I thought it was the most boring season of the new era and one of the more boring in several years. Nothing very interesting happened.

We'll agree to disagree then.

Erika and Maryanne... meh.

You can't say that Jesse fricking over Cody with his own idol was boring. And the fire challenge was fantastic.

Jessie over Cody was good, but the firemaking was terrible. Lasted 30 seconds and was completely anticlimactic.

I agree Erika was a bad winner, or at least very poorly edited. Maryanne i think was a good mid tier winner. I think Gabler is closer to Erika than Maryanne. Maybe he did something out there but, like Erika, we weren't shown enough for him to be satisfying.

I thought Gabler's final tribal was fantastic. He dominated Cass and Owen. I thought Cass was going to win going in, but he killed it.

His FTC was fine. He kind of took the Tony approach and didn't really say much of substance when answering questions and instead just kinda made people laugh. Difference for me is with Tony we were shown as viewers the things he did.

Not taking anything away from Gabler. I always say whomever gets to the end and gets the most people to vote for them deserved to win regardless of what the viewer thinks. It was just flat for me.

two completely wasted shots in the dark,

In Maddy's exit interview she said the original target was Jaime but of course that was edited out so people at home could bitch about her wasting her shot-in-the-dark.

That's a strange edit. Nothing mentioning Jamie was ever shown.

That dude knocked himself silly in the opening comp. lucky he didn't just fall face fist into the mud.

probably the best looking

decent looking but, showed her hand too soon. trying to take out the strongest member this early always seems dumb

Matthew Grinstead-Mayle,

likeable but dumb. The moment i saw him climbing the rock barefoot i was like he's gonna bust his arse. and whoopsie!

And i guess it's editing but there are time he has the sling and times he doesn't.

cheated to get the advantage. I guess that's all gameplay but, i was hoping she'd get voted out.

Carolyn is the real life version of "nuttier than squirrel turds" but she survives.

Did she show the real idol and fake idol to the camera and reverse them?

Either I’m wrong or maybe it was a silly edit. I was actually fearful for her that she misplays them at tribal.

Nevertheless, she’s insane

Edit:
I went rewind. Holy crap she did. She showed the fake silver coin as her idol. And the real idol as just a “fake string of beads”. Either she wises up and production used a misspeak for the edit,,, or she ends up making an epic blunder few weeks from now
