They would never bring in Nolan's Batman. It would completely devalue the last trilogy. If they did and its the John Blake as Batman, then I'd be pissed. We've waited forever to see a Batman/Superman movie and it wouldn't even be the Bruce Wayne version of Batman? No thanks.

Again, if WB had taken their time with these movies, it would be awesome....but they're rushing it which is going to lead to them royally fricking it up.

Who did Superman kill in MoS that was innocent?

Indirectly, tens of thousands. His primary concern should not have been kicking Zod's arse, but leading him out of the city. Instead, he's comfortable brawling there, leading to another 90,000 deaths.

There is a difference between killing people and letting them die. Also, this was kind of the point of MoS-he can't save everyone.

I didn't read the thread so maybe this has been brought up but.......

Any attempt to reboot Batman after Nolan's trilogy is a money grab unless 10 or 15 years has passed.

No legit director would want to go within 3000 miles of Batman 3 or 4 years after the conclusion of Nolan's trilogy.

That spells disaster.

All wide releases are money grabs. Warner Brothers/Disney/FOX/Sony/etc. are all businesses. Businesses thrive on money.

Why? A legit director wouldn't be afraid to put a new spin or new take on a familiar character.

Yup

While I disagree with what they're doing, I don't necessarily think this is the case. Just don't try to do what Nolan tried to do with Batman. Do something different, like bring one of the comic books to the big screen. The Dark Knight Returns would be fantastic if brought to the big screen. How about Batman Beyond? The Long Halloween? There's plenty of potential with the Batman series and I see no reason why time should be much of a factor. If done properly, Batman could easily become the next Bond franchise.

Every movie is a money grab.

Also, they are trying to get the Justice League franchise going. There is no JL without Batman.

How do you propose they do the JL movie without Batman?

Gotta say, I'm surprised by the feedback on my post.

I feel like my point is legit.

Any reboot of Batman would need to breathe a little bit after what Nolan did.

What Nolan did was to iconic, especially with TDK, for there to be another Batman reboot a few years later.

Just seems crazy.

I love the Nolan trilogy.

But I have to say, I'm ready to move on and see a slightly less "real" version of Bats again. Tone down the dreary, realistic take and make it a dark, detective story that's a little more stylized. I'm not talking Burton lunacy, but just very slightly ratcheted up from the Nolan universe. I think that can work in the MoS universe.

since Nolan will be involved in all DC movies from here on out, I don't see a problem with them rebooting Batman.

MoS universe is going to be fine and Batman/Gotham is going to be cool in that circumstance.

As far for the thought of MoS "shot their wad" and there is no way to up the ante, let me offer a different take. Metropolis was destroyed yes, so in a way that gives them total freedom. Superman's debut in this world was greeted with only a partial victory, so the struggle will be for him to better himself as hero. Secondly, it helps solves the "why does Superman need the JL" question. They will be threats that Supes can't solve on his own.

The more I reflect on this film, the more I see the potential going forward.

Yes the Nolan movies were great, but you can't take that Batman and put him into the Justice League. It's not like they are just randomly rebooting the series, it's so they can move forward with their JL plans.

You can't just not have Batman because someone else made a good trilogy 5-10 years earlier
