If you don't mind my asking, what are some of these spoiler sites you mentioned and where do they get their info from? I'd like to peruse some of them to see what some of the other possible storylines might be.
Just type "supergirl spoilers" into google and sift through the results.

Back in the day, the old TV Tome site was so full of spoilers, you couldn't go to some show pages without getting spoiled. They had a "latest comments" block that was pretty prominent. You'd go to the Justice League Unlimited page and you'd see "LUTHOR IS REALLY BRAINIAC" or some other spoiler for the next show.

Well, Wonder Woman really didn't have a choice. I would explain why, but it could be a spoiler if the showrunners decide to make that apart of Maxwell's repertoire. So the more I think about it, I guess technically they could go down that storyline, but they'd either have to actually bring in Superman onto the show, or have another extremely powerful superhero introduced onto the show.
And CGSC, did they wiped Batman's memory because of her killing Maxwell, or was it because of actions they took against Dr. Light in another storyline? I'm thinking it was the Dr. Light storyline.

Don't bring up Dr. Light. Ruined character.

After doing that I can see where you're coming from now on the Cat/Kara issue.

Or if they really want to frick with us, they could introduce M'Gann and have her pose as Supergirl.

"Supergirl" appears in public alongside Kara, and as Kara turns to thank J'Onn for posing as her alter ego, Hank Henshaw walks into the room. Kara does her if-you're-you-then-who-is-she doubletake... "Supergirl" morphs into Miss Martian.

Could that be Emma Caulfield's character?

Great episode. Lots of back story with Astra. Man, what Alura did is shitty using her daughter to draw astra out and not to mention, completely dangerous. If Alura thought Astra was a criminal and dangerous, why would she take the risk of her showing up with Non not being far behind?
Kara using her powers like that against Dirk had a very good result but does it come off to anyone that using her powers like that comes off as very big sister of her and intruding on privacy. Good results but questionable means.
Maxwell is defiantly going to be Kara's own Lex Luthor and he will be around for the long haul. Definitely looking forward to how that's portrayed.
Cat knowing that Kara is supergirl is not going to last. J'onn will wipe her mind of that memory and return her back to normal and kara will have to clean up her sloppiness around cat with regards leaving so many clues about supergirl.

That is how you do a mid-season break episode, that was really good it addressed a lot of the obvious concerns people had- the Cat Grant thing, avoiding the dumb love triangle thing (aka what destroyed Smallville), moved the main plot forward in an interesting way that made the main villian a hell of a lot more interesting (she was essentially an eco-terrorist but she was also totally 100% right in that there world did blow up like a year later so...) .
And this might only be of interest to Sentrius and a few others who read a lot of DC but man I want to get more J'onn J'onzz I want to see white martians!
As to the Big Sister thing it totally is-- and honestly its way worse if she (and Superman) have to focus like that instead of passively overhearing things (that's different I mean they can't help that).
I did think J'onzz was going to have to expose himself- I mean in a straight fight if they don't know what he is specifically he should be able to take one of them-- his weakness (massive pyschological aversion to fire due to what happened on Mars-- I think, but it could be species based) is much more common than Kryptonite but his power set is the same with some added ones- shape shifting, invisibility and telepathy.

Bump.
That was a good episode tonight. It keeps getting better and better.
Really liked the conflict with Astra. I was not surprised at all to see Alura agree with Astra. I should've know that there was more the story of Astra's imprisonement than Alura just being self righteous.
I feel like kara is well on her way to friend zoning Jimmy and Winn. I just feel it.
Who the hell is that chick max lord has in room 52? Could it be something like Galatea or Bizzaro supergirl?
J'onn looks amazing and I can't wait to see what else he is up to now that the mystery surrounding him. I have to say that I'm impressed with how he looks with the special FX.
Speaking of FX, it just looks amazing and it gives me more hope for a live action Superman show. I wonder if that could translate well to a Batman live action show?

I thought it was a good episode also. I think the actor that plays Henshaw/J'onn (David Harewood) was a good choice. I think this is the perfect way to present J'onn on a show. And I'm not sure who the black eyed chick is, but Bizzaro Supergirl is as good a guess as any.
My only gripe is that if that many Kryptonians/aliens revealed themselves, there is no way Superman wouldn't get involved. I know they had the online exchange and she said she didn't need him to intervene yet, but you can't tell me if that many Kryptonians/aliens showed up, Superman and any other superhero wouldn't be there regardless if she thought she needed help or not. But I realize that the show can't have him show up, so I can over look it.

I don't like the way they played the issue with Cat and Kara. When Cat says at the end that Kara and Supergirl look nothing alike that's patently false. They look like identical twins. They've strayed too far into disbelief for my liking. I can think of numerous ways in which Cat could tell Kara is Supergirl that Kara couldn't explain away.
I did like the way they played out the conflict with Astra for now.
But all in all there were too many things that just didn't ring true. Like when Maxwell Lord told the DEO to get off his property and they did. No federal agency with investigative power would do that at his command with an open investigation. The writers and producers are playing down to their audience.
I know it's escapism but it doesn't have to be so childish or cheesy.

Possible that he's dealing with some of the escapees in Metropolis as well.
I liked tonight's episode. J'onn is killing it. The ending was obvious, with J'onn revealing himself and Supergirl needing a twin.

I mean, she did just see them side by side, shaking hands. So I could definitely see Cat's belief all of a sudden turn to disbelief. And I think her saying that they look nothing alike was just her pride getting the better of her, and/or a way to help herself except that they aren't the same person.
With that said, at some point Cat will become suspicious again. There will be too many coincidences over time, and her investigative mind will kick in again. The ruse won't last forever. Hell, cat made a fortune figuring stuff out about celebrities and influential people.

this show is god-awful terrible.

The series is starting to work, glad I stuck around for it. There are still a few things they need to work on, like making things happen in a somewhat reasonable manner.
Here are some examples:
1. Lord Industries is major high-tech, right? Then how the hell is some keyboard scrub able to so easily hack their systems? (I work in IT, so it really shines at how bullshite this is) This could EASILY have been written as some of the alarm sensors being offline due to the damage in the building.
2. Cat Grant is brilliant and observant, right? J'onn (as Supergirl) and Kara are standing right next to one another and they look EXACTLY THE SAME. Instead of making the obvious statement of how they look so much alike, she just instantly buys into it. The writers could have made it more believable to have J'onn alter his appearance enough so that they looked more different (at least a different height). My hope is that they are sticking with the character being not so easily duped and that she realizes something must be going on so she's just playing along until she figures it out.
A weakness I've noticed with part of the combat portrayal is how Kara can beat a trained warrior with just a few fighting lessons. Granted, every show relies so heavily on montages to quickly move the story, but it would be so easy to explain if they went by something like "having been under Earth's yellow sun for so much longer than the prisoners, Kara is able to make up for her lack of fighting skills against them by being stronger, faster and having more stamina".
The chick in Room 52... The hologram looked to be of Red Tornado's arm. I don't know of a female Red Tornado, but it might be a neat tweak to the story if Lord worked on the tech to make a more biological-based Red Tornado (maybe a cyborg?). The one they had already looked like it was straight from a 60's B-Movie so any improvement should help.
The CGI seems to be improving. There was a shot of Kara flying in slowly over the convoy just after they entered the warehouse, it looked really good. I don't know if it was CGI, a loooooong shot with a zip line, both or something else but it looked far more natural than a lot of her flight shots have in previous episodes.
