i mean who would want to see a h0t asian chick attacking orcs who are launching themselvs out of a catapult at her WW2 british bomber plane while 3 hot chicks in stilletos with samauri swords and M4s attack a castle filled with monsters?

I'd rather watch the 3 or 4 action sequences with no dialogue as music videos than that 2 hour movie

i didn't bash it. i said i heard it was one of the worst movies ever, and posted a part of such a review

i mean compared to that shitty where the wild things are that was hailed by critics as 'the tortured mind of jonez childhood' i lost all respect for critics.

fwiw, i really didn't like WTWTA, either. it tried too hard to be philosophical/psychological, imho

Just gonna throw my two cents in and say the intellectual movie fans will LOL the whole way through this. the action scenes were good but not great especially when you keep utilizing the same moves to dodge things or hit people, it gets old. that lead chick musta double backflipped over a blade or something like that at least 3 or 4 times.

i was over snyder's choice of direction after 300. it just isn't interesting or original to me

you gonna facepalm me without any current knowledge on the state of hollywood's obessions with teen sex?

i don't know if this has been addressed, but supporting a movie that is selling itself on teen sex isn't really being intellectually consistent

I don't see why any intellectual movie fans can't enjoy a simple action flick.

i can also enjoy silly action flicks

nope

You go to the movie, you see some good action, some hot chicks, a technically good directed movie plus you get good visuals.

are they similar visuals to 300/watchmen?

well if it only made $20M this weekend it will have to have a strong international pull to make a lot of money

since the movie wasn't allowed for review, they knew it was a pile of crap. add in that i didn't see THAT many ads, i assume the ad budget was slashed. that will help (usually the ad budget equals the production budget)

having to make up $120M is a lot better than $160M

I might be mistaken but I thought it was the other way. The last 3 weeks I thought they pumped the shite out of this movie, but it was mainly during times like Adult Swim so that can't cost that much in terms of Ad dollars

i think they went from mass targeting to niche targeting, so yeah

adult swim is the perfect group to advertise to

i should add that i was planning to see the adjustment bureau..which was sold out..then i tried to get into rango..also sold out..so i went into this movie not knowing ANYTHING at all about it..other than it hadn't started yet and wasn't sold out.

so i had no idea what to expect..i had not seen any pre-movie ads. maybe thats why i enjoyed it so much?

I'd say it's it's closer to the Watchmen's style than 300. But yeah you know it's Snyder directing it while watching. Seems like I remember you disliking the Watchmen so it's probably not for you, especially if you don't think he's a creative director.

Like I say, I'm sure there are going to be quite a few people who dislike this movie. You just have to take it for what it is.

I think it was tulanetiger that said his theatre was openly mocking it. When it ended where I was watching it half the theatre clapped.

the watchman was ok. i just didn't get why it was so beloved. he toned it down compared to 300

300, also, was ok, but i can't believe it was so popular on this board. it was nothing special

if you don't think teen girls wearing skimpy clothing and trying to be hot was a major selling point of this movie, then i don't think you're being honest
