They had a chance to do something different and decided to take the easy way out. It's predictable and kind of lame.

Eh. Kind of a big jump to make based on a trailer.

You mean the part where there was a fiery explosion in a portal to hell that no human could possibly survive, yet here he is building a Russian railroad?

I get it. It's a semi kids show and killing off characters is difficult. They rightly figured they weren't going to be able to hide that he was filming it.

It was either him or Dr.Brenner locked away at the end of that scene of S3. Netflix ain't gonna let their cash cow lose steam over something as silly as a "character death".

well, a lot of it is based on movies, tv shows, and games that kids were into in the 80's and the main characters are mostly kids?

The semi kids show comment wasn't a hit on the show. I'm just saying that it floats between serious SciFi/period piece show and kid/teen related.

I guess from one angle it's refreshing that it won’t be hidden the whole promo tour.

I think after that gut punch of an S3 ending. Where everyone is going different directions, growing up and saying goodbye. It's a bit predictable/homey for Hopper not to be dead.

As I said before, Netflix isn't going to let their most popular cash cow fall off because of character deaths.

Do we know that for sure though?

It doesn't look like it, but I was hoping for an evil Russian version of Hopper

Surprised they dropped it this early, but that was pretty wild. Anyone know when this is supposed to release?
