So your hopes and dreams are your evidence
Or do you have evidence that in our actually real world. . .for the cinematic feature film The Lord of the Rings: Shadow of the Past, which writers will have the most contributions?
I mean, you know the answer. . .we ALL know the answer.
I am just kinda worried about you, and feel like maybe YOU need to hear yourself admit the answer.

Colbert has some work to make it as bad as Rings of Power. I think he can do it but it will take some work. Wait, Isn't this just a movie. Rings of Power had a lot of time to make things horrible. Yeah, now that I think about it, I don't see how he can make it as bad as Power by the mere time constraint.

no, one of us thinks Stephen Colbert's son will have the same amount of control and input as Peter Jackson on the next Lord of the Rings film.

I have no reason to believe they will not have as much or more than anyone else.
Neither do you.
You just reeeeeaally need it to be true to win an argument on the internet.

Colbert has some work to make it as bad as Rings of Power.
He will definitely inject his politics in it, based on everything we know about everything he has ever tried to be.

3 oscars and 147 award wins vs. 0 credits on IMDB.
This movie doesnt get made without Peter Jackson. It gets made whether Stephen Colberts son even exists if Peter Jackson wants. That is the power dynamic. I dont know who you are or what world you live in, but those are the facts.

no he didn't. you don't even understand the basic facts.

More shite I won’t watch.

no he didn't.
Still a throwaway comment
Unimportant to the question at hand
A question, mind you, I am still awaiting an answer to. . .
It is ok to just admit you are basing on your own imagination.
It isn't as great answer, but at least it is honest

No it isn't. The ONLY reason he is in the writers room is because it was their movie pitch. It would be kinda a dick movie to take the idea and then not let him get a credit. Seeing as he's never written a movie, the people with incredible experience doing that will take the lead and Colbert's son will probably try to soak in as much knowledge as he can and give his input where he can when they are brainstorming before someone more experienced types up the screenplay (whether that be Jackson or Boyens).

Jackson said he was impressed with Colbert
Called him the biggest Tolkein expert he has ever met
Is Jackson lying?

Cool. That doesn't mean his 27 year old kid is gonna have equal control in the writers room.

Based on what evidence?
Do you even have a quote from someone involved, at least?
I'll help you out, here. At this point I will accept a quote from a friend of someone involved. Just tossing you a lifeline

You shouldn't need me or anyone to tell you why Peter Jackson and Peter Mcgee are not equals in a writers room or on a movie set. It's not something I can give you a book on.

Or do you know they will not have equal input in the writing room?
One is the question at hand, which you claim is definitely the case.
Are you saying you made it up?
Posted on 3/27/26 at 10:40 pm to HailHailtoMichigan!
Who gives a shite? I'm sure it will suck and that's probably why he's doing this, but there is zero Steven Colbert can do to 'ruin' LOTR for me.

Yes, because only one of them gets to decide what actually gets put in the movie. And it isn't Peter Mcgee.

LOTR will exist no matter what abortion Colbert sprays on the screen
We can at least thank Jackson for that.
