That’s really, really good for Metacritic. Currently sitting 2nd among all SW movies

So far only CNN and Variety have really called it meh. Everyone else that's a top critic seems to praise it.

So far

Watching John Campea youtube non spoiler review and he loved it. Says this is Hamill's best performance as Luke to date.

ETA: The porgs are awesome, they are not overdone, they are in it just enough. They are NOT Jar Jar Binks

CGI and animation on Snoke is amazing, hard to tell its fake at some moments

having problems with video at moment and that is where he was at.. He said they are both great in their roles but i don't think he likes their story.

ETA: He said Rian Johnson takes a lot of risks in this movie and one of them is the Rose and Finn story and when you do that not all of them work out, and he feels that one didnt work out. Wasnt a fan of BDT's character. Was surprised by General Hux, says he has some "premium" moments in the film.

The music is fantastic

this is truly a Star Wars film and should please a large majority but you cant please everyone

Ranks it above all but the original trilogy but needs to watch it a few more times to see where it goes in regards to those three.

Nice. Was hoping for more from Hux. Like Gleeson alot as an actor.

This might be what I'm most excited about. I've been wanting just a clip of something new from Williams. Can't wait to hear this one. Rey's Theme might be my favorite thing he's done. That's saying a lot.

Good to hear as well. Can't wait to see her and Hammill in this. I know he will knock this out of the park.

A Variety critic pretty much trashed it, calling it "the least essential chapter yet."

I thought TFA was better than Jedi

It's going to be hard for any of the new ones to top ANH and Empire, for ALOT of people

Variety has a tendency to roll out some super shitastic reviews just for the sake of clicks. I'd take them with a grain of salt.

If anything, it demonstrates just how effective supervising producer Kathleen Kennedy and the forces that oversee this now Disney-owned property are at molding their individual directors’ visions into supporting a unified corporate aesthetic

That doesn't sound good.

Writer basically said the movie doesn't take very many chances

I just find that hard to believe given Rian Johnson's directing
