So what is the next step? Do they go to other gladiatorial schools and free them as well to add numbers to their army?

One complaint I have. I can't believe that so many of the gladiators would have died in the battle to "kill them all." You are talking about literally the best warriors in the world, with their entire life devoted to fighting, yet many died at the hands of guards. I understand a few dying when their hands were still clasped, but not afterwards.

Also, I think everyone is forgetting that Asher is still alive.

i didnt think that many died after the initial surge, when they were all unarmed..

also, Spartacus was about freeing ALL slaves, not just gladiators..

i was kind of hoping that they would grant Asher a reprieve and he would join them.. deep down, he only wanted to be part of the brotherhood.. i thought it would have been cool for Batiatus to have cornered Spartacus somehow, and then Asher step in and kill Batiatus..

Asher is a worm looking out for himself only, he will play both slaves and Romans as long as it benefits his own arse. His bragging to Doctore was proof of that, they'll catch up to his arse in time so he better live it up while he can.

wasn't that many as someone already said, and they were unarmed most of them in the intial attack, also, you overlook that some gladiators were still in training and not yet as good as others.

and one more thing a Roman soldier is well trained also, not like a glaiator, but still effective.

Not sure anyone has seen this yet but if so my bad.

The actor who plays Spartacus was diagnosed with Non-Hodgkin Lymphoma. The second season has been delayed indefinetly at this point.

Poor guy lands a bad arse series and the next thing you know he has cancer. Hopefully he will kick its arse too.

I can't remember a series getting me so pumped up before. I can see dvd and bluray discs of season one setting sales records when it premieres. Out-fricking-standing.

I have to admit, this show ended up surprising me. The first couple of episodes were so cliche and overdone, that I only continued watching because I was bored and curious. The last 8 episodes or so have been damned good.

The season finale was awesome. Pure, unadulterated vengeance with extreme prejudice!

I hope they are able to continue this series. I don't want it to go the way of "Deadwood" just yet. If the man's health holds up, they can get two or three more seasons out of the historical Spartacus.

Hopefully so. I can't remember any show in recent memory that had me glued to the tv every week as this one did. The real life Spartacus took down 7 Roman legions so there should be plenty of material for multiple seasons I was actually surprised that the revolt happened in season one. For some reason I would have thought they would drag out the revolt into season two. Glad they didn't!
