I'll probably go see it. I predict that I will see a lot of flat billed hats, over sized clothing, white sunglasses, and poor people.

He acted like ff6 beat Star Trek, ignoring the fact the ST didn't open this weekend, so 38 million for 2nd week is pretty solid.

What u think FF6 is getting next week?

Lots of movie snobs in here, the point of going to the movies is entertainment, not voting with your money to which movie should win awards.

I couldn't stand these movies when I was still in school, but having grown older, they're a great source of entertainment and laughter now. It's one of those "it's so bad, it has become cool" phenomenons among my friends and I. TORETTTOOOO

Iron Man 3 is over 350. Why are we making comparisons?

Even the directors and producers of the F&F movies accept that fact now. As a result, the franchise has gotten better with time.

i think fast 5/6 are just over the top action/crime movies now. i haven't seen either, but i've heard they're good for what they are

Yea but fast and furious is with the "in" crowd now with the last 2 movies and everyone on the movie/tv board likes to play the devil's advocate and act really sophisticated even though they haven't seen half of the movies they call dumb.

Seeing as how Star Trek has a much bigger fan base, by far, than F&F I assumed that the second weekend of Into Darkness would outperform 6 by far. Hence the thread.

If we break the demographics down for fans of Star Trek you will realize it is among the much older age group (because current teens probably know nothing about Star Trek) and, I hate to say it, nerds. Where as F&F appeals to the young and old because it is made for pure entertainment and as mentioned earlier the diverse cast really helps.

I liked the movie. Series is entertaining and its always a big hit with those in the car scene and fans of action movies. Its changed over time, but its gotten better IMO after 2/3 which I thought were the low points. Even so, take the movie for what it is. If you don't like the movie, do go see it. Its very simple

no smart person is going to say "it was a VERY good movie."

They would say "It succeeded at what it set out to do...it was campy fun and over the top action scenes. It had Vin Diesel and The Rock"

Ill check it out. Enjoyed the last one. I think it's funny that some posters act like they are some high class critic that knows everything ab films and only watches award winning movies. Anything else is shite and people are dumb for watching it.
