Has anyone watched this show?

First season was originally on Chiller in the US and season 2 will be a Netflix exclusive. It's a horror anthology show similar to American Horror Story.

It's kind of like a mix between Seven, a detective show, and an 80s slasher flick (minus the teens).

It doesn't frick around with the violence either. I'm three episodes deep and when people get it they get wrecked.

The girl who was the babysitter that gets wrecked in Jurassic World is the main actress in it FWIW.

No but I will definitely give it a look. Sounds like it'd be right up my alley.

Just watched episode 1 of season 1. Has me interested so far. Hopefully it doesn't go downhill. I'm sure the Netflix backed season will be the better of the two.

It does. The acting is horrible. Her accent comes in and out. The first episode is good but goes down hill from there. I finished it just to see how it ended. Only one on there I liked was her husband. Everyone else was bad.

Agree. That opening scene in episode 1 pulls you in and then after a few episodes it just got dumb IMO.

It's not that bad. Stop being melodramatic.

It was fine for what it was.

I couldn't watch season one because Katie McGrath just isn't that great of a leading lady. And, like you said, her American accent is not convincing at all. She's about as Irish as Irish can get.

I'm half way through season one. I think it's fun. I don't think it's trying to be The Sopranos or anything. It's just a fun horror show. It's kind of like Scream. I'm having fun with it.

Finished it tonight. While I liked it overall I get the complaints about Katie McGrath's accent issues. I read that the entire series was shot at once like a movie instead of in order like most TV shows so I wonder if the times she had trouble maintaining an American accent were shot early on.

No spoilers but I will say some of her decisions were idiotic but I guess since it's partly an homage to old slasher movies that makes sense as the characters in those tend to be dumber than a box of rocks.

It was good enough that I do want to see the new season that drops on Oct 17. Here is the synopsis for those who are in the same boat.

quote:

Brought together by a horrific secret they’ve long kept buried, a group of former friends must return in the dead of winter to the now-closed summer camp they worked at five years before. Deep in the snow-covered wilderness, the rundown camp has now become a private and isolated “intentional community” cut off from civilization by weather, wilderness, and choice. The group’s secretive reason to return causes tension and tempers to flare. Before long, they find themselves gruesomely targeted by someone – or something – out for horrific revenge. The location’s isolation starts to wear on relationships and expose surprising secrets, and as the winter weather worsens, so does the killer’s grisly spree. As blood and secrets spill across the vast and snowy wild surrounding the camp, the mismatched group must try to not just escape the killer’s retribution, but also survive the deadly elements.
