Both are prominent liberal activists. I'm assuming it's a political thing.
Probably. Pretty stupid, IMO.

It is political. Freeman playing the race card recently in order to diminish Americans who are not thrilled with obama's performance and Robbins' history of being less than honest with his facts are enough for me to form a dislike for the two.

So it would be intelligent, in your enlightened opinion, to form a fondness for people who think the polar opposite of you? It would be intelligent to revere people who's vision is one you abhor?

Yea, I'll bet you're less than consistent with that approach.

I don't particularly care for their views, but I can separate this from their work. If I didn't watch or listen to movie/tv/music based on my disagreement the artists' political views, I'd be pretty bored

My best friend and I agree on practically nothing. We have great, rollicking debates all of the time, and then we split the tab. There's a big giant world with lots of divergent viewpoints. Yes, it is intellegent to form a fondness, even admire, people with whom you vehemently disagree. People have different opinions on things -- it's a big world.

I'll use the obvious example that Scalia and Brennan were great friends, and they spent their careers tearing into the other.

Wow.

I'm assuming this to mean that you wouldn't help Obama either?

Don't agree with Jay Quest? Tough luck. You're gonna burn and he ain't gonna stop it.

Come on, man. People is people. Soldiers died to defend their right to an opinion. That's what makes us different. You sound like a radical saying that shite.

So can I. That's why I said I liked the movie despite the actors. I don't like the men but I will watch their performances if its worth the effort.

I have no idea what you're talking about since I never said they weren't entitled to their opinions. I said I didn't care for them based upon those opinions.

Where am I off base in your opinion?

The thing that amazed me most about the movie was that the Morgan Freeman character could remember that long arse fake Mexican town name.

It sounds more like an Indian chief than a Mexican town.

Damn. How about not despising people for their personal views? I know hardcore liberals and hardcore republicans. I may disagree with both of them, but they are still decent people.

I've stated my disdain for it before, decided to give it another chance. Still don't like it. Glacial pace, characters were not believable.

You must be the customer from the video store 16+ years ago that rented Shawshank and Tank Girl the same night. The next day, you told me that Shawshank was OK but Tank Girl kicked arse.

Loved the movie although I agree the two main actors are less than likable.

Yeah I don't care at all for Robbins political views but I'm a big fan of several of his movies.

If didn't watch movies based on the actors politics I would have missed a lot of really great movies.

I didn't think Shawshank was great it was good though.

I completely agree. However, the paradox here is that I've totally made up my mind that I despise Jay Quest. His opinion to dislike based on opinion is just too stupid for me to like him. Does that make me a hypocrite?

I never understood people that hate actors for their political views. Makes no sense to me

I don't care for how Morgan Freeman, painting with a broad brush, called the Tea Party racist for disagreeing with barry obama's vision for America. I find him wholly unlikable for that reason. Robbins, where would I begin?
