Oh yeah they make a shite ton. I know at one point Matt was making more off the patreon than Shane because he was producing, uploading, etc., but that's probably changed since they have Gardini and them doing that work. Matt 100% does not need to do this at all That said, I feel like if he wanted in, he would be in. These things almost entirely consist of their scumbag philly crew.

He's in one sketch from G&K season 2 and I think he says a total of 10 words and his character might be my favorite from the entire season.

I don’t understand the hate for Schulz, what’s the issue with him?

He can come off extremely pretentious. Shane Gillis made fun of him on his own pod for his “Shultz-isms” where he repeats what someone says a bunch of times with his hands up and a crazy face to pretend like he just discovered the mystery of the universe. I don’t think they are super close, they’ve had some pretty combative podcasts

His podcast is also pretty awful with the 6 guys who do nothing but laugh at everything he says and grope him, get groped by him, or grope the guests.

Rubbed a lot of people the wrong way with that special he did where he hyped it up as “the new wave” (even tho it was just the Louis CK model), and his special was too raunchy to go anywhere so he bought his special back and supporting it was going to show everyone you can never cancel comedy. Only for him to drop it on YouTube a month later and it being a totally middle of the road special, nothing that cutting edge that any network would’ve said no to. He’s just grifting off that idea at this point. I think one of the biggest components of Shane’s rise, is he isn’t hyper obsession with being some world changing speaker of words, or champion of free speech. Dude just spits out jokes he thinks are funny, and a lot of them are.

I doubt Shane or Netflix would really want Shultz there hogging the attention and I don’t think Shultz would want to do something as a second fiddle.

Would be much more excited if Schulz wasn't involved. I do not understand his appeal.

Maybe I’m weird but Gillis, Schulz, and Bargatze are my favorite 3 right now.

I’d add Tim Dillon, but I don’t care for his standup. I find his podcast and appearances on others’ to be hilarious. He’s one of the best riffers and off the cuff one liner deliverers to me.

In this "cut for time" sketch, things go off the rails when LiMu Emu and Doug (Shane Gillis) from Liberty Mutual try to help a customer.

He works so much better in an absurdist sketch vs the down the middle standard set ups sketches. He should embrace his inner Tim Robinson more

When Louis CK came on Flagrant it was definitely awkward when Andrew had to admit that Louis CK did it first. Wasn’t it Netflix he had to buy it back from because they wouldn’t sign off on the Michael Jackson joke?
As far as the other guys on Flagrant, Mark has grown on me, the exact opposite for Akish, and Al has some of the stupidest takes I’ve ever heard.
Shane is definitely headed to the top of the comedy game. Mark Normand is one of my favorites right now, especially doing podcasts. The way he can just come off the cuff with jokes is amazing.

That’s what he claims, but there’s nothing really to back that up besides what he says

The joke in question isn’t that crazy compared to anything that Netflix puts up for their other comedians, regardless of how big they are. He never actually names a specific streaming company when he tells the story, just keeps it high level enough to keep it feeling real without any substance to back it up.

He also posted it unedited on YouTube right after. YouTube is one of if not the most advertiser friendly video platforms available and one of the most censored platforms around. Again unedited and released for free on YouTube.

Seems much more likely that he couldn’t find a buyer, or atleast at the price he wanted, and wanted to leverage that to spin up a story that he’s being silenced and his fans need to support it to defend free speech, blah blah.

To post it on YouTube like a month later after inferring heavily that the rental option was the only way you’d be able to see it (and limited time to buy!), is honestly just scummy business on his part in itself. Especially when he did a hundred pods to hype it up as changing comedy (with an idea that had already been done, successfully by plenty of other comedians)
