Spoilers below
I didn't really care for it. The Neve and Courtney relationship didn't make enough sense. The number of deaths were like a Final Destination level amount of chaos. Obviously the intention is to pass the torch for future movies to the daughter and the young news crew (from Neve and Courtney).
Even with better writing I'm not sure they have the necessary charisma to carry the franchise going forward. The daughter and the camera man (who should have been the reporter) were okay, but the would-be-reporter wasn't engaging enough to be any movie's lead or primary supporting character.
There was some memberberry stuff with certain conversations that was okay but not as well written as the original. And pretty typically, the reveal wasn't satisfying since the chief of police who gets taken out is literally a foot taller and 50-100 pounds larger than the supposed killers.
It's a diluted series obviously and the copy of the original just isn't good enough to be worth seeing in the theater unless you just badly want to get out of the house.

Movie had good gore. Excellent pacing. Intense moments. Killer reveals were meh. Sneaky good soundtrack. 8/10.

Watched this last night with the wife.
This movie fricking SUCKED.
I'm not a Scream person, but I can somewhat get it. People don't want to watch a scary movie, they think the meta (sometimes on meta) is clever (it was in the original, which is great, mind you), and they do this "80s slasher" thing where they admit the movie is bad but pretend repeating the campiness, final reveal, and extreme violence (I missed some in the middle but when did this start? Because the OG, and only good Scream movie, didn't have this) make it fun.
But this had none of that. It's now force feeding nostalgia in a way that it should be mocking itself, but it doesn't want to get that joke. But, worst of all, the movie just made no sense. The franchise has devolved down to a bait and switch based on internet rumors only to have the big bads be...2 random crazy people? That telegraphed whodunnit by having them be names?
It was just a mess all around. Legitimately terrible movie.

Finally got around to watching. Easily the worst in the series. I could not believe how horrible the ending was. What a waste of Matthew Lillard. Absolute trash movie.

i hate they wasted Stu on deep fake/AI crap. Killer reveal sucked too. No jump scares really either
