Scream 5 is reportedly in the works

Spyglass Entertainment is producing it and Neve Campbell is being wooed back to the franchise according to the trades. HOWEVER, there is also a possibility that Scream 5 might not be Scream 5 at all but a reboot of the franchise. If they do that, however, I will not be watching. It's either a sequel or bust for me.
Personally...I think they should leave it at Scream 4 since Wes Craven is no longer with us. But if the script is good, I'll be fine with them having another go at it.
I don't know where I was when this news first posted but this article is from early-November 2019.

Nope. Not true.
MTV had that Scream TV series and for the first couple of seasons it wasn't the best writing but I really liked the main cast. For whatever reason, they decided to end season two on a cliffhanger and then completely rebooted the show in season three.
I did not watch the reboot.
If they reboot the movie franchise I have an idea as to how it's going to go and I want no part of it.

I worked at the movies when scream came out. We would hide behind the side curtains in the costume during the opening minutes.oh my god it was glorious

And that was the point. Craven wrote the movies in a tongue in cheek way that made them social commentary (not political) with some meta discussions about horror films and franchises.
