What is the name of the Scorsese movie, his first I believe? DeNiro, keitel and others. Made about 1971 or so. They are all just low level street hoods.

Cool to watch but a raw movie. And makes new Yorkers and Italians look stupid the whole time.

I agree and had the same impression years ago. I think that much of its impact was due to its violence. We were used to gangsters shooting and stabbing people or maybe choking them with wires from behind and they were sawing people in half!
