That a single character doesn't give a pause between any single smart/smarmy remark sort of does this show in. It's all quips, no substance. I mean nobody even pauses for humor, everyone seems to be reading off of cue cards.

It´s a cute show. Writers must be some up and coming youngsters, as they can be funny, and also grossly miss the mark (they just need practice).

Olyphant is one skinny mofo.

I liked it. Still not a fan of Barrymore. She always seems bombed on benzo's and antidepressants. Still, it actually worked here. A few solid lol moments every show.

Just finished and I enjoyed it. Drew was great as usual. She really carried the show.

Yea, I finished it and it had some funny moments and I did enjoy watching it but its no "must see". Had some good comedy moments in there but a lot of repetitive stuff as well.

Good watch..

I'm 6 episodes in. All the supporting characters are great. I love how the episodes are only 25 minutes. Never seems dull.

I love Oliphant, but like others said it is kind of hard to watch him play a pussy.

We just finished last night. Really funny show. We cracked up several times an episode.

Is it true the kid next door was one of the young Shawns from Psych? He was hilarious.

Couldn't make it through the first episode.

Truly horrible acting with unfunny jokes.

the episode is 29 minutes long including opening and end credits. how much could you have possibly watched to give up so quick? I'm not bashing your opinion at all. I agree the acting was subpar at times, but the only character I saw struggle with it was DB. It was a weird and waaay different character than she's used to playing, so I don't judge her too bad for it.

I watched the series in all over a rainy weekend and thought it was pretty good. TO was solid and the daughter and neighbor's son relationship is comical as well.

Unless you just despise the actors, give it a full episode or two and maybe it'll change your mind.

It was. A group of us watched it, and we all found it funny and enjoyable. I have a feeling the other poster thought the Leave it to Beaver acting and setting was offputting, but that was the basis of the humor. It setup the dichotomy of the classic American family of wholesome goodness with their actual crude lifestyle and murderous ways.

Olyphant is great in this show. Drew was good enough, but she did have moments of bad acting. The kids were fantastic, and I think their relationship and development were some of the best writing of the series.

I actually loved Oliphant in Girl Next Door and Drew in Wedding Singer.

I gave the show until they had the neighbor kid doing a medical evaluation on her. I just couldn't get into it. The writing was terrible to me. Not my brand of comedy I guess.
