How hard up is Rob Lowe for cash that he has to voice Simba in this Lion King spinoff?

Is there a good reason he is doing this show?

It's easy money? Big time actors voice cartoons all the time. That isn't considered a knock in Hollywood

Voiceover work is easy money. Hell, Tom Hanks does voiceover.

He's an actor. It's an acting job. Why wouldn't he do it if he wasnt doing anything else at the time?

Sean Austin does the voice of Oso the special agent panda in a cartoon my kid likes. It seems like an easy gig, no makeup, no costume, roll in and say some lines and collect a check.

Why do you assume he's broke because he's doing voiceover work in a major film?

He has a great voice for cartoons. I think he's a tool in Handy Manny also.

It isn't a major film. It's a spinoff TV show of a major film. And he isn't the lead in the show, just a character that shows up occasionally.

And he can do whatever he wants, I just assumed someone with his acting skills wouldn't be slumming it on a kids TV show. But apparently that isn't slumming it.

Lots of pretty famous and currently working actors do voice work on Disney shows.

Is it that easy and we'll paying?

I can see it being well paying for a movie, but the fact that the voice of Simba is Rob Lowe doesn't add anything to the show- other than me having West Wing flashbacks every time he talks. I can't imagine Disney paying well enough to get a famous person to voice a character. Just doesn't seem like Disney would pay the minimum amount of money it would take to get a really famous actor out of bed in the morning.

I'm sure. He probably knocks out all his scenes for a season in 2 days.

Gabrielle Union and Sarah Hyland do voices for the show as well

Probably wanted to do something his kids like/could watch. Does he have kids? Maybe he owed someone a favor.

Mandy Moore is Sheriff Callie, Wayne Brady is the bunny on Sophia. Voice work is pretty popular.

he only has a couple of lines every few episodes. can probably knock out a whole season in a couple of hours and get a few grand for it.

I doubt he's hard up for money.

It is a boring show though.

I agree with the boring part.

Give me Octonauts all day.
