Never knew this:

The original ending, in which the Griswolds hold Roy Walley and his family hostage in their house, was re-created as part of the ending to National Lampoon's Christmas Vacation (1989).

Also the Producers wanted Christie Brinkley nude in the film but she refused.

Beverly and Christie nude in the same movie? Now that would've been legend for a kid in the 80's.

prime Beverly D'Angelo

There was always something about Beverly D'Angelo. She oozes sexyness. Christie Brinkley is beautiful and all but there's just something about Bev. She's so much more sexy than Christie. If that makes any sense.

Well Christie Brinkley wasn't almost human.

One of the most perfectly beautiful cover models to walk the earth.

She was almost a cartoon.

Beverly was that hot, naughty sexy Mom in the movies.

Christie Brinkley looked almost too wholesome to be sexy.

One thing I never realized...

Eddie had a barn?

And it's bigger than his house.

Or is that the neighbor and Eddie is basically a peasant squatting next door?

“What, no meat in this?”

“You get plenty of meat at home. Be polite, have some ketchup.”

There's not a single false note in the movie.

Every line is a quote. The script is amazing.

Had a stroke while filming which is why her character was killed off.
Don't know about the stroke, but the death of Aunt Edna was in the original story by John Hughes (titled "Vaction '58") as published in National Lampoon a couple of years before the film was made.

And the family in the story went to Disneyland, and it ended with the dad shooting Walt Disney in the leg.
