Just got out. Up until the last 10-15 minutes I’d say it was probably a 10/10 for me. But the last 10-15 knock it down to an 8.5 for me. Just didn’t like the ending. Totally get why it’s divisive and it’s not necessarily a “bad” ending. Just not an ending I agreed with.
Think the MC deserved better IMO. Still a must watch in theaters though. One of the most fun horror movies in quite some time.

Yes and no. It’s very much Resident Evil to me, and I’m a big fan of the franchise. It’s just a normal, every day guy trying to do his best in the most nightmarishly fricked up night you could imagine. So many callbacks to the games that aren’t heavy handed. But the entire premise and style is very RE
Leon doesn’t show up and make a shitty cameo. But they did enough to make it earn its place in RE lore.

We went to see movie this tonight. I’ve got to say I was shocked at how much I enjoyed it. Scary at times, funny at times. Overall a really good movie.
What’s funny is a few weeks ago my wife got the idea that we should watch all the Resident Evil movies to make sure we’d be “caught up” to watch this one. Turns out that was completely unnecessary as this one had nothing to do with the previous storyline(s).

I agree with this. I think it did a great job of tying in elements from the video games, but also standing out as completely new material.

Saw in IMAX, was a fun ride. Definitely body horror heavy, seems like they can do more films in the universe.
Ending was meh I guess, but the main character was fun to follow around.

Just walked out. The movie was so fricking good until the ending
