Casino Royale really has a case to be the best Bond movie of all time.
The problem is that the things that made that movie great (compelling and well written script, lack of major effects/CGI, etc.) haven’t been applied to the rest of the Craig movies. Instead, they thought it would be better to build continuity and force Bond to spend every movie trying to fight his demons/past.

I don't mind them building continuity so long as they continue to evolve his character into what he eventually becomes: a sexist, misogynist playboy who is both ruthless and charming. They have failed to do that in the Craig continuity of Bond.

I've never cared much for Craigs movies. Feel like they wasted Craig himself and his movies range from just ok to awful.
