?Creed's loss to Drago should be stricken from all records and arguments in this thread. It wasn't a real fight. Creed and his team signed up for an exhibition and didn't expect Drago to come out unleashing bombs. They weren't prepared for an actual fight because it wasnt supposed to be an actual fight. He probably didn't train much and was just gonna dance and throw punches at half strength in order to put on a show for the audience.
This ignores everything Creed said and did up to the fight. Rocky and Duke thought it was an exhibition. Creed did not. He REALLY wanted to beat Drago. He wasn't playing. He came out swinging so Drago baited him and then pounced. Once Creed was hit he knew he was done, but he didn't want to grow old. He wanted to go out a fighter. That's why he told Rocky not to throw the towel. He couldn't face being mortal.

He was over the hill, period. Of course he wanted to think he could still do it.

My point stands. Creed wasn't playing around and he got demolished. Rocky was over the hill and retired too. (His character was 31 in the first Rocky and he'd fought in 60 fights). By the end of Rocky 3 he had fought in another 20 fights iirc. We're talking about a fighter with WAY more miles on him, at this point, than Apollo when Apollo retired. And seeing that this was immediately after Rocky 3, it proves Rocky was a better fighter than Creed straight up at this point.
We actually never see a "prime" Rocky in the movies
Just looked it up - Rocky fought in 80 fights before fighting Drago while Creed was in 48.

Don't disagree so much as Rocky was avenging Apollo. If he fought Drago first, he would have lost.
Good thing this is all fiction anyway

I think Drago’s stamina gives him an edge on Clubber.

Prime Apollo smokes everyone on that list.
The speed, the reach, the power, and the skill would just be too much for any of them.
Yeah.
Apollo was loosely based on Ali. And prime Ali lived up to his self-billing...The Greatest.

Drago was roided up. Nevada commission would have tested his arse and Clubber would have fricked him up, but I think he still beats Apollo.

Completely backwards. No one is scoring an early round KO against Drago, and Drago can one punch anyone’s arse to the canvas in any round. Clubber Lang is going down in the middle to late rounds.
Apollo outboxes Drago into the late rounds. If it goes to the judges Creed wins all the way but either fighter could go down late.

I’ve been a fan of the films since I was a kid and always wanted to see a Clubber Lang/Ivan Drago fight. Always thought it was fun to think about who wins that one. Clubber imo.
As for the question, it seems like pretty common knowledge within the universe that Apollo is one of tGOAT, so I think, at his best, he beats anyone else
