Question about both The Office shows

Are we - as viewers of both shows - being shown finished episodes of the documentary as seen by the fictitious national audiences inside the show OR are we seeing a quasi-curated sneak peek at raw footage filmed for those documentaries?

Pretty sure it’s intended to be raw footage.

We are sort of the real time audience for a documentary that is to be aired at a later date if that makes any sense.

I think "the documentary" was only a few episodes as they mentioned in the last couple episodes. We got 9 seasons...

Also, are we to believe that everything we saw was through the lense of the camera or was it only viewed that way and written into the story when convenient.
Similar to parks and rec with the cutaways and interviews.
For example. The final episode was outside the documentary filming. How are we seeing it?

Yes, we are getting the PBS footage of the show. That’s why we see Pam going to the Camera mans house, Jim’s BBQ, and Pam and Jim spending the night at Dwights. That’s definitely PBS audience footage

The mockumentary format fell apart within a few seasons of the US version imo. It was just a sitcom at that point.

A damn funny show.
There are so many flaws with the filming of this show as it pertains to being a documentary that it's really not worth discussing. You will find no good answers.
For example, the camera angles they get from an interaction between two characters, with different points of view, in real time, without seeing the other cameras or boom mic operators are literally impossible.
But the show is still damn funny, which is really all that matters.
